There is still a lot of poverty in China. A lot of them are like slaves. Working 247. Child labour is huge. My organisation used to have a factory there and it is unbelievable what they are subject to. Treadway: 1 Like |

Zahra29: Lol. This is why I love statistics. You can sermonize all you like but figures will always tell the unvarnished truth. Anyway, Iām sure theyāll soon come with more analysis to show why all the Chinese emigrating are mistaken. |
Re: Living In The Uk-life Of An Immigrant (part 3) by Treadway: 2:46pm On May 01 |
Goodenoch:stats and facts indeed don't lie. If all the Chinese in the diaspora are put at 10million that is a whole lot less than 1% of their population of over 1.4b. So the stats show they are not 'trooping out' as you've depicted, cos hey less than 1%.... In these kain discourse esp with India and China, we can't just be looking at the numbers without taking into account the sheer population of both countries. They have over 30% of the world's population so..... See estimate of Nigerians in diaspora below. Hope we can all see that the TRUTH is that Chinese are not trooping out as depicted. 2 Likes

Treadway: He poisoned him and wanted him dead immediately but Alexi Nalvanly was lucky to survive the poisoning thanks to Germany that took him and cured him. As a patriotic Russian, he still felt he has to go back to Russia despite being warned not to. I don't really blame Nalvanly for wanting to go back home. Any reasonable person would expect that since Saint Putin has tried and failed to eliminate him before, he will just leave him alone, we were all wrong, in fact, we were dead wrong. As soon as Nalvanly stepped into Russian airport, saint oga at the top arrested and locked him up, bid his time and this time around eliminated him and ensured that no one can save him this time. Sad end of a young man whose only crime is having the audacity to oppose the "god" of Russia If the Russian state can be this cruel to its own people who disagree with him, If and when Russia becomes the number 1 super power, do you think they will spear you and your people when you disagree with them? Your evil desire of wishing this kind of cruelty in Nigeria will never work for you. God forbid! With time, Nigeria will thrive and succeed democratically, economically as a free country with citizens enjoying their fundamental right of freedom of expression. There are countless number of countries from east to west to even Africa who are freedom loving, democratic and also prospering too. We don't have to become a repressive authoritarian society where one man can use the power of the state to murder his people anytime he wants without accountability. I hope people around you know the kind of person you are else they are playing with fire cos with this your mindset, you can be deadly. |

How has the democrazy removed Nigeria from the deplorable state it is in 64 years after?? One-way thinkerš¤£.... Authoritatian is bad, but we had kings for centuries and earth didn't collapse. Shior. Treadway: This is pointless. The absolute number of Chinese emigrants is useless. What matters is what proportion they are relative to the proportion of US citizens emigrating to China. There were less than 1,000 American students in China in 2023, and this is up from 350 the previous year. Conversely, there were about 300,000 - THREE HUNDRED THOUSAND Chinese enrollees in American schools, with 86,000 last year. https://www.voanews.com/amp/bilateral-tensions-cause-the-number-of-american-students-in-china-to-plummet-/7404085.html https://learningenglish.voanews.com/amp/for-many-reasons-fewer-chinese-students-attend-us-schools/7537255.html That means a Chinese young person is hundreds of times more likely to choose to go study in the US than an American young person is likely to travel the other way. Interpret that as you will. The figures speak for themselves though. |

Treadway: https://www.scmp.com/news/china/science/article/3260307/made-china-2025-china-meets-most-targets-manufacturing-plan-proving-us-tariffs-and-sanctions When people, especially black people, mock China with poverty statements, I find it very appalling and ridiculous considering after Whites and Chinese cousins - Koreans and Japanese - Chinese are the next in terms of developmental status. Arabs exceeds us. So, why try to belittle China? Yes, China has poor people, just like every country. However, in the East and southeast parts of China, where much of the wealth is, the development of China is at the same level as most Western countries. The major cities of China are comparable to those in the West. There is wealth in China and much of it comes from sheer economic activities rather than the stock market. The recent ranking of billionaires shows it - Chinese cities dominate disproportionately. China, a country filled with destitutes over forty years ago, now has more billionaires than any other country and commands a lot of economic dominance. China trades with more countries than the US. https://www.visualcapitalist.com/charted-which-country-has-the-most-billionaires-in-2024/#:~:text=China%20has%20814%20billionaires%2C%20the,while%20the%20U.S.%20gained%20109. When I read the above article in the SCMP, if no be say I dey inside train, I would have shedded a tear because I was extremely impressed by the foresight of their elites and determination to succeed. E dey irritate me anytime I see black people lampoon China. I keep reading dictatorship and mumbo-jumbo, history has it that EVERY developed and prosperous country you see today underwent a form of dictatorship before it became a prosperous democracy. There were bullying, mass killings and high-handedness. Economic development came before democracy, not after. In cases where there were semblance of democracy, there was a dominant ethnic or racial group or political party who controlled everything. But the majority of countries at the forefront of economic development had a form of dictatorship before they liberalised their political systems. That said, Mr Treadway, Nigeria in its present state can't develop even with a benevolent dictator (Lee Kuan Yew of Singapore was described as such by Western media). The country's demographics doesn't permit that to happen. For dictatorship to work effectively for the benefit of the populace, there needs to be an ethnic or religious or racial dominance by a group that is egalitarian, enterprising, creative and pragmatic. Lastly, black people, regardless of where they come from, should stop criticising China. Leave that to people who have built functioning societies. 7 Likes |

Gerrard59:you no dey ever disappoint my guy. True, the unity debacle may also pose some problems, but with an authoritarian, that is not enough of a deterrent. For naija matter, the people simply cannot unite to elect the best of them or even do what is best for themselves. They can't unite guy! You know this and I know this! If we do have an authoritarian who has the passion for the country at heart, I truly believe that may work better for us. Just take the reins and do whatever needs to be done, everyone will fall in line. The key thing is that person being passionate about the country. Anyway, make I bone the matter. |

Goodenoch: OK oo... Hopefully, Ukraine wins the war The summary for the above is a proxy war between Russia and the whole of NATO delivered via Ukraine. Replace Russia with China or any other superpower and the impact would be the same. Zahra29 'cleverly' noted that Russia is capable of invading any country, which totally counters all what you have said here. As per morality of the war or who wins the WAR or what Russia has gained/lost, I don't really give a BLEEPING HOOT! Just tried to clarify that the US have always been the aggressor not just towards Russia, but anywhere on earth! **Disclaimer** I never said I am in support of Russia or the US/West/NATO. Just putting the stats out here for all to see. They are already quoting me as a Pro-Russian and Anti-US. 1 Like |

ReesheesuKnack: You must be a joker to think that because one is in the West, one cannot criticize objectively and quote data and facts that are littered all over the internet on how the US and her allies have assassinated heads of states, invaded and bombed nations causing significant human right violations, genocide etc. I do that and I hate the US and NATO. That I'm in the West doesn't remove the fact that the US have always and would always remain the bigger aggressor over Russia, China et al. Because I'm in the West, I should be blinded to fact and common sense. By the way, who the hell made you guys the landlords and landladies of the West for heaven's sake?!!! 7 Likes |
