What do you expect FRSC to write? They must write to please their paymaster.

Igbos do not hate Yorubas. The accident happened because of how narrow the roads are and the potholes. A good example is Dangote truck "wrongfully" overtaking another vehicle. It's mainly because of potholes.

If the roads in Enugu was dualized, the accident couldn't have happened

Peter Obi was right

seunmsg:
But the sore election loser called Peter Obi without any credible information attributed the accidents to bad roads and insecurity. As in, a former governor without knowing the actual cause of the accidents rushed to Twitter to claim falsely that the accidents were caused by bad roads and insecurity while in reality, the accidents were cause by reckless driving.

So, is this the kind of guy that we should elect as president? A guy who lie so shamelessly without shame? As in, why will anyone want to make political profit from such an unfortunate accidents? Is there no limit again to what can be politicized again in this country? Are there no sensible elders again in SE that can call Peter Obi to order before he finally goes fully unhinged?

In the first republic, Nnamdi Azikiwe build his political career on opposing everything Awolowo did. Once Awolowo take a position, Zik takes the exact opposite position. He opposed free education because Awo introduced free education. He opposed free health care because Awolowo supported free healthcare. He opposed secession clause in the constitution because Awo supported it. He opposed independence in 1956 because Awo supported it. Over 60 years later, Peter Obi is treading the same path by opposing everything President Bola Tinubu is doing. He was quiet all through the Buhari administration but has been tweeting lies and propaganda against President Tinubu since 2023. Why exactly do Igbos hate Yorubas so much?

It's interesting that Obi is really putting everybody on their toes. Imagine people are taking it serious to know what caused an accident even though understanding is still low for some of them.
If the road was wide andproperly dualized, maybe the impact would have been less. Not to talk about the time heavy duty vehicles should ply such road and the kind of road block by security officers that will necessitate drivers to always be in haste to beat time. Infact, a lot of things are wrong.

I know an average obidient is Daft but at times it's best to keep quiet, according to your logic accident happen because the road is not properly dualized , can you explain how lagos ibadan express that was newly rebuilt and doesn't have potholes can have multiple accidents this year alone ?

Overspeeding cannot cause accident till the vehicle hits something like potholes or cows to make it change course.

Ask Newton.
Listen to yourself. Why is it termed "overspeeding" in the first place? Doesn't that imply driving at speeds higher than posted limits or safe conditions? Won't that reduce the driver's ability to react to hazards and increase the severity of collisions?

You come to my thread to try and derail it by talking about a load of crap that has nothing to do with the thread and you are telling me about hatchet job?

You come to my thread and try to silence me and you are telling me about hatchet job?

You think that I will only post what you like or that I came to Nairaland for your pleasure?

Keep wasting your time and posting nonsense, but it will never stop me from posting whatever I want.

This is my last response to you. I won't read or respond to any of your crap anymore.

Can you imagine trying to control what people can or cannot say, as if he is some kind of censor? As if there is anything wrong in creating a thread like this! Some people do not even deserve any response.

What nonsense!

Well said.

The effrontery to attempt to shut down dissenting voices over their messiah Peter Obi is both alarming and scary at the same time.

These dastardly Obidients won't discuss the thread topic, they just want to abuse and insult people and take things personal.

You would think by now they would have their own discussion portal and would have left here enmasse seeing as they hate anyone saying anything truthful and not necessarily positive about their messiah Peter Obi.

Obi should at least show some self worth, rushing to make such a huge statement in situation like this for cheap political gain is uncalled for. You can't rule a country that you & your followers are working hard to bring down! You talk down every thing the government does and use the dead for political gimmicks. I expect a presidential candidate to be more mature than this!

I agree with all you said.

Hopefully he will apologise for this miscalculated outburst and then focus on releasing his election expenses as promised.

wetin concern me with obi... How can he be playing politics with people's lives.... He said it himself that he doesn't know d cause of d accident yet he jumped into conclusion.... He was 3rd in d last election and he has alot of followers who don't think... We should allow him to keep feeding his followers lies arbi?

No amount of lies can hide the glaring and obvious truth.

Obi can lie all he wants, that's his cup of tea... He is not in power, and he is not in charge of national information and orientation.

So, if Obi is lying, who is hiding the truth?!! Why are the citizens not privy to the real facts?!!

Shouldn't every Nigerian be well apprised of everything happening in their nation?!! Is that not their right?!!

Since Obi lies a lot, don't you think even his ardent followers will call him to order if the truth is widespread and obvious?!!

Let me reiterate... Hiding behind Peter Obi's opposition rants to hide leadership shortcomings makes no sense whatsoever.

This is just simple.

Maybe... Just maybe, we focus less on Obi for once in this nation. Don't you think?

How about Peter Obi himself get off social media and stop regaling us with his unrequested for opinions?

How about his people stop disturbing media houses with his itinerary when he wants to go to places to donate cash and kind, admittedly a good thing but all focused towards keeping him in the public eye as part of his 2027 campaign.

How about Obidients stop opening meaningless threads about Peter Obi every 5 minutes?

How about Obidients stop making posts that have no bearing to thread titles claiming his mandate was stolen blah blah blah up till today.

Is there a part of the Constitution that forbids freedom of speech and movement?!!

If their actions and words are criminal and dangerous, what's stopping the authorities from clamping down on them?!!

If their antics irritate you so much, why not ignore them?!!

Are Obi and his followers the causes of:

1. Hyperinflation
2. Massive and widespread killings and insecurity
3. Constant devaluation of the Naira
4. Fuel scarcity
5. Corruption among elected officials
6. Incredibly shocking Electricity supply

When did stupidity among a select few become more pressing than poor leadership and hardship?!!

Thank God for his mercies. As small as fan belt is, it has made a lot of people stranded. Some have left their vehicle at the mercies of strangers to get one. It's more annoying if you experience fan belt cut on a Sunday. You may have to tow your car. I keep some items permanently in my vehicle. They are jumper cable, tow cable, tyre inflator, extra fuses, 2 extra fan belts, allen keys, set of spanner, adjustable spanner, plier, nose plier, extra water, gear oil. At times, you just dont know what will help. A plier helped on a lonely road in 2014 when battery terminal wire pulled off.

everythingtall3:
I passed through these road few days ago , God is really watching over me. I traveled from Lagos to benin , then benin to warri, warri to abuja, abuja to nzukka , nsuka to enugu , then enugu back to lagos.

Omo I drove myself ooo, I could have used flight but going to those states with flight will break bank. All my family members were very worried, i didn't even know that nzukka road was dangerous , i passed that place around 9pm after i was done with my meeting around 7pm.

Nsukka road should be closed if we have a caring government, it was too curve for a single lane, you can't even see the car coming towards you.

I did all these journey within 5days o, how i know God is watching over me is ; immediately I entered my street after all these long journey, just about 100 meters to my house, my car fan belt cut. why didn't it cut in enugu, kogi, lokoja or the deadly nsukka road. I really need to do thanks giving because God is definitely watching over me.

obi did not even know the cause of d road accident before jumping into conclusion that it must be connected to bad roads... How is dis accident connected to bad road? Must he lie to prove a point.... Must he use people's lives to play politics..... The Tanzanian dam was closed because of heavy rain... They also have electricity challenges like Nigeria... But he will always look for cheap points to paint Nigeria in bad light
Why can't you people read to comprehend instead of react?
He said and I quote..."Even though the cause of the accidents is yet unknown, it must not be unconnected with the bad conditions of roads and insecurities."
One of the causes of road accidents in Nigeria also includes bad condition of our roads.....if for instance most of our federal roads were dualized, possibly this accident would have been minimized or even avoided!
Everyone is free to speculate as to the causes of road accidents and he is not an exception simply because he contested an election!

Secondly,no point arguing, read for yourself the highlighted....

Tanzania Prime Minister Kassim Majaliwa today said that the Tanzanian government has shut down five hydroelectric stations across the country due to excess electricity production in the national grid.

Also, the move comes as the recently completed Mwalimu Nyerere Hydroelectric Station, the countryโ€™s largest power plant, has generated enough electricity to meet the demands of major cities like the commercial capital Dar es Salaam.

A representative from the state-run power company Tanesco stated, โ€œWe have turned off all these stations because the demand is low and the electricity production is too much. We have no allocation now.โ€
