Normally, he's working for his money now.

Umahi is proving himself to be the most nationalistic Igbo politician.

He has not openly played divisive politics and has shown a lot of maturity. He always talks about Nigeria. If Umahi delivers on these projects, he might have earned himself the position of vice presidential candidate in 2031. May God spare our lives till then.

As for the other Igbo politicians you mentioned, I don't think they were used and dumped. Ogbonnaya Onu did not particularly impress as a minister. Rochas Okorocha was building statues in Imo. Orji Uzor Kalu was convicted of corruption. Same Orji Uzor Kalu said he'd be sweeping Aso Rock if Ahmad Lawan was president. He also said if Igbo cannot produce the president, no one in the south must and the Ppresidency must remain in the north. Nwajiuba took APC to court to disqualify Tinubu.

For the first time since 1999, we see a pan-Nigerian Igbo politician. We don't expect ethnic champions within his homestead to support him.

If Umahi delivers the coastal road, the south-south and southwest will support him for a higher position.
