phones charges at most 5-volts, your UPS batery is mostly 6-volts or higher. car batteries are 12-volts. You wan fryy your phone be that.

Moreover, taking current directly from the battery, is not always good especially if na Car battery as the output could be very dirty.

What I would suggest is, if your chargeController have USB port, make uuse of that or if you have laptop or TV that has USB port, make use of those or buy Car phone charger (which is actually an inverter but outputs CLEAN 12-volts) and connect that to your battery.

mind you, Car battery ain't meant for deep discharge like solar batteries are.

I just read this and I just gotta say something sha ni.

cheesy cheesy Dude say car battery output is dirty. Dirty ko, messy ni grin

There is a reason it's called direct current and not alternating current which have sinusoidal pattern.

And you even get the most stable wave pattern from a car battery supply than from a buck converter like the car phone charger which is just electronics that try to mimic DC output. At the end, you still end up with ripples in the DC output waveform compared to the best output from the car battery.

Good day friends.

You don't expect I start arguing with you. Do you ? Because I wouldn't. We all are RIGHT in our own numerous ways.

Thanks

Apart from the quality of products, which may be a factory designed fault, every other thing you listed here is the false of the end users.
Take a look at the heating temperature of the inverter via the attached picture. Very few people do create time to open the sides of their inverter and clean the dust/blockage. Some people do not even remember it till they pack the inverter. This blockages do not always create room for air circulation/ventilation inside the system as the fans are blowing, whereby creating unnecessary internal heat within the closed system.

This is done to prevent dust and particles from going in.
It not meant to be removed

Depends on your load. Mostly 5 to 6kw inverter.

Next question should be choosing between transformer based inverter or chopper based? Cause 5M no b small money, @bassdow @bigbrovar and other experts make una pls come give expert advice. Anyone with experience with transformerless using iron and AC for like 2yrs no issues....

Go with transformer based inverter.
If you are concerned about idle current, go with torrodial core transformer based inverters (it's mostly Chinese inverters that has the transformer in them)

I doubt the device came with those blockages. If it didn't, then it should be cleaned off

Hybrids are here to stay and have stood the test of time already. why are people still contemplating?
Hybrid gives you an Inverter, Charger, and MPPT, cheaper than any standalone.

example with 250K. you can have
a 3kva inverter with 60A charger,
80A MPPT, go and price stand-alone equivalent.

Hybrid allows you to customize slightly when grid charge, how much grid charge, when Solarcharge, Only Solar charge during the day and Grid charge in the night, etc. with standalone, you need to have good know-how and other tools to achieve these.

It's the repair and maintenance people are running from...

The money you saved initially, you will vomit it when you want to repair it grin grin grin.

Standalone gives you the advantage of easy repair or conversion. Even if I can convert your hybrid, I will not bother doing it.....

That's if would be rePairable to begin with. Even when they successfully repairs it, wouldn't take long to require another rePairs

See if you can get a single 625w Jinko panel, then.

Take measurements of the space you have. Compare.
Alternative is smaller 250W panels. They actually don't take a lot of space, so you can fit in a fair number of them.

I actually feel 250w x 2 performs better than a single 550w.
In terms of voltage mostly mppt setup and even pwm...

Which repair and maintenance?

This is like saying Laptops are not good because once your board has issues you have to replace the whole board.

You can use a Laptop as CPU only, same with Hybrid, you can decide to buy external Charge controller and chargers it your choice.

Hello good morning everyone.
I’ve just spoken to the Jos guy this morning and he said I should take the battery to someone on his team here in Lagos to help check it out. He has sent me the persons numer.
I Will be updating the group on the outcome. Thanks to everyone for their concern and advice.

I'm here to seek council. I just bought a betking shop and want to install solar instead of running generator. What solar package can adequately power a bet shop. That's going completely off grid. Please advise. Thanks

I think averagely an unoptimized betshop has a load of 1200w.

After optimisation, around 750-800w..
Your best bet is to optimise your shop first
Dc fans, lighting, led monitors...
This way you will spend less smiley

I actually tried calling him on Wednesday and yesterday on both of my lines (Mtn and Glo) but it wasn’t going through. I also tried whatsapp call on Wednesday when the issue started but it was just showing calling without showing ringing which would mean it wasn’t ringing on his own end and messages has been showing the 2mark sign on WhatsApp since Wednesday morning as well but without a reply. That was why I’ve been worried and coupled with the amount I’ve spent buying fuel for my generator just between Wednesday and yesterday from road side sellers because fuel stations are all filled up with queues. I’m sure you will understand my reason for coming to seek help on nairaland

The landlord has a share of the problems too. Whenever I hear or read about a client that went with an Installer to market, or went to market themselves and then wants an installer to come install, especially when the client has little to no knowledge of market tricks or installation experience, I just feel they are setting themselves up for trouble.

I recently had a client that wanted to install a 5kva, 15kwh lithium system. I was recommended to him.

I went there did audit, discussed different options bla bla bla. I drew up three different quotes later and sent to this guy, after days of market searching and what not.

After sending him the quotes, my guy said he has run low on cash and is waiting for salary for the month. Month end camd and went still no response, so I sent some messages but he didn't reply after reading my messages. I contacted the wife to ask if he was ok, she said yes that he is just having car issues and is repairing it. I was wondering why car problems will make you not reply simple Whatsapp chat.

I just went silent and went about my normal life.

Few days later, baba called that he is in Alaba, he has gotten the battery, the inverter, this, that...I was like 😳...then he said he wants to pick up panels that should speak with tye seller to confirm if they are original etc. I turned down the request that's I don't do that, especially since that is someone's business and I didn't direct him there.

Long story short, he bought fake panels (likely 250w rebadged as 400w), over priced protection devices setup, not very original PV cables etc etc. At the end of the day, he was still complaining that he spent more than his budget. I just 🤐

It is the issue of trust that most installers exhibit that will make most clients do this. Most installers will add thier entire problems on materials and still buy fake at the end. It is better for a client to shoot himself in the leg than someone else. No be person add over 1million to a product here?

To curb client like this, one will go with him to the market together while he makes payment. Give him the cost of installation and move.

By the way, you have got 24 cells in total, some 2 cells are paired connection and some cells are single, i am wondering how you want to achieve a 16S setup with this.

Whosoever goes to this location should update us on how this abracadabra was done as I've asked this same question.

Did they do 16s and decided to run 8 cells in parallel to 8 leaving out 8 cells with no parallel?

Interesting what some DIY has under the hood the main reason I do ALL MY DIY from beginning to end.

its a Voltage regulator, Current limiter, Grid Delay, volt and current meter, and shortcircut protection.

there is no Abracadra here, he is running 2p14s. that's a 14s NMC cells

there are several types of Lithium packs. 48V
Li-on/NMC - 14s
LFP - 15s (48V) 16s (51.2)

Found this in case anyone was wondering, just add your states from HA or MQTT and its good to go.

Nice dashboard!

While on the topic, please is anyone uploading from nodered or MQTT to pvoutput? If yes, can you help share your flow? Feeling a bit lazy and not wanting to re-invent any wheels.

Thanks!
