The UK is not the best destination for immigration, it's just a better place. That's the key point.

If you will suffer, at least suffer with light, and security, without the need to beg others, suffer from stupid problems such as a slap from a policeman/tout, or eating chicken only on Christmas.

Most importantly, to solidify hope. You can take everything from a man, but if he has hope, he will strive to the very end.

From this angle, Nigerians won't stop going to the UK. It's a shot at hope.

Even when they visit, they always rush back. Why can’t they stay back in Nigeria when they visit? Selfish people

UK wages are miserable! If not that Tinubu and his gang of APC crooks destroyed the economy of this country, why would anyone want to move to the UK of all places? undecided

Doesn't work that way. The bills are in pounds so doing mental conversion to naira is meaningless unless you want to send the money back home to invest. Cost of living is high

Depends on how desperate you are and your situation in Nigeria. Some people are able to make it work in Nigeria even when they were not born into wealth or they are into illegality.

Leave this matter pls. Let anyone that wants to go, go. When you post stuffs like this, you could discourage people.

Not like staying here in Nigeria is better off anyway. I'm trying to see what to be proud of staying back in Nigeria and getting stuck with your generations and future generations, esp. when you have the capacity to move out.

UK is okay! Food is cheap there, every other thing is okay; its 1000% better than the Zoo. All these people trying to trend, let them come back to the Zoo if E sure for them.

For someone like me earning below 500k in Nigeria per month, I would quickly seize the opportunity like even now sef. Life in the UK is way better than life here in Nigeria from any angle you wanna look at it.
Na my kids go be the biggest winners because they will eventually become citizens very early .

Bro, you mumu die!!!

Take the first as an example:
20000 ÷ 12 = 1666. So I only paid 173 in income tax and go home with 1493. What doesn't make sense here?
Oh, your reasoning is faulty.

Now convert that to naira by the pounds exchange rate and tell me if you go ever make that much for Naija.

Yes but in the UK,

- you do not queue for hours to buy fuel
- you do not buy fuel for generators
- you have access to a proper government health insurance system
- well managed transportation which means you really do not need a car to move around
- no touts on the road trying to extort you like this new task force roaming about Abuja roads.
- no police, VIO or FRSC officials trying to extort you on the road for flimsy stuff.

In other words, those things you spend money on in Nigeria, you find that the tax deductions actually pay for them in UK so you do not need to spend again from your pocket.

Have you paid your monthly bills (house rent, electricity, gas, water, TV etc), or bought monthly supplies?
