Sorry about the insult Bro

You're not dull. You are one of the most brillant minds here. Just that u hold different views from us at this time and that doesn't mean your opinion are not valid like ours
Totally agree. Difference in opinion is no indicator of intelligence. The man with the most outlandish, off color view on this thread is Meliforme. His reasoning baffles me but then he's entitled to his opinion.

So half the u-17 boys failed the mri test and Nigeria have only until Monday to submit final squad list. This one is setting up a coach to fail.

The way they brandish this fifa technical committee as a magic wand ehn, as in once you are a part of the committee you carry a halo of wisdom on your head. Yes the committee is composed of people knowledgeable in the game. But don't forget that Oliseh had worked with the committee before he coached SE.

Point is that it guarantees nothing as far as coaching success is concerned
somehow the FIFA committee knowledge couldn't help him out while coaching in Egypt, Kenya and Sudan but apparently the players in the super eagles are the only one that can implement his ideas.

"The team is intact...

The news that first team members of Golden Eaglets failed MRI test is not correct. The team is intact.

Abuja football fans that have been watching the training sessions of the team and their friendly games can attest to this.

Please if you live in Abuja, feel free to come and watch the Eaglets train at the FIFA Goal Project, Abuja stadium. You can find out.

The MRI test conducted by the NFF found few players on grade 5 and these players are out.

Grades 1 - 5 are pass grades, but the policy of NFF is that players on grade 5 will not be taken to the competition venue because they may fall into grade 6 when CAF conduct their own MRI test, due to the fact that the borderline between grade 5 and 6 is very little.

In order to avoid that risk, the NFF insists that only players from grade 1 - 4 will represent Nigeria at the International tournament.

Please, feel free to VERIFY.

The team played another friendly game today and defeated Turbo touch academy 2-0.

The 30 -man list will be made known before the team leaves Nigeria next week.

I don’t know why we keep fueling this Amuneke talk. It’s just like worrying about Peter Obi when he is not the president.

Let’s focus on Finidi and the qualifiers. His performance will speak.

they are 22 players on the list and I believe they all went on to play for their national team. So they are all stars from that very u-17 tournament

So playing for your national team automatically makes you a star. 🤔

You put Omeruo on the same list as Neymar, Coutinho, etc

The way you hate this tiki taka eh.

Tiki taka is not that bad when it's being executed by talented and gifted players.
we did enjoy it with Barcelona, in the era of Xavi,Neymar,Messi,Iniesta, Suarez and co.

It only becomes distasteful when you have a bunch of ungifted players playing it.

Chelsea have made first contacts with Napoli for the signing of Victor Osimhen! 🇳🇬

The offer being discussed was €80-90m + Lukaku and a young player, report by Dimarzio a sky sport reporter

What you miss is the education that comes with it. When a team is learning to play possessively, their understanding of the game improves.

I watched Wolves today and even though they lost, it was nice watching how they play in a refreshing fashion.

Watch Fluminense Tiki Taka passes against Manchester City.

FLUMINENSE passes against MANCITY | Tiki Taka Football | Fifa Club World Cup Final 2023

So it must not be De Bruyne and Xavi before it can be executed. It is the education and building of the players that most count.

None of these things matters in picking a coach. All these na Guardiola assistant or whoever assistant is wooly talk. Perform. Simple.

How will the team perform? The first thing is strategy. Is not to stand here to say you don't like this or that. Tell us the pattern of play you like and examples why it is superior.

Teams keep adopting possession based strategy. See Arsenal today, at a Five minutes window, they hit a 96% possession. Teams are winning titles. Then you are here shouting you don't like.

Tell us the better PERFORMING system.

When you say all these things, I laugh. Possession football is here to stay and grow. No top club will sign a coach who can't coach possession football. More coaches are mastering and learning the art.

The education and growth is the most important thing. That is why for a long time, I have called for the Super Eagles to play heavy possession football. The players grow with time. It redefines a lot of things.

I want us to give fair assessment to our judgments regarding the trio.

Ben Iroha was a solid member of Westerhoff era and did so well.He has below Europe career. He won Afcon and had two WC appearances. What could have been his best tournament was marred with injury and Mike Emenalo step in.He had 50 caps and a goal.

Celestine Babayaro remain the best talking of European career. He played for Anderlecht,Chelsea and Newcastle. He played in two WC and was a regular member of eagles in the late 90 to mid 2000 with Afcons appearances. But I will rate his super eagles career average 27 caps and a goal.

Taye Taiwo would have been the best Nigeria LB.He started well with Marseilles but his transfer to AC Milan ruined his progression and he never recovered from it.He played in a WC and had Afcon appearances. He had good eagles career with 54 caps and 8 goals.

My submission, based on Europe career I gave it to Celestine Babayaro…..On trophy I gave it to Ben Iroha cus he was part of eagles that was ranked 5th in the world…..Ranking Taye Taiwo the best eagles LB would bring debate but If he was part of 2013 Afcon team he would have been adjudged the best cuz having 54 caps with 8 goals showed how solid he was with eagles.

I hope to see emerging talent that will break Iroha,Babayaro and Taye records in eagles.

The proposition presented is based on the 2009 U17 tournament. That proposition presented the notion that so many stars were created, found, discovered from the tournament.

I disagree completely with the entire notion.

With regards to Nigeria Omeruo was classed as a star alongside Neymar, Coutinho, Casemiro, Allison, etc by this particles contributor.

Let me first of banish this notion that the U17 World cup is somehow the place that footballs best and most talented players are discovered. That's a nonsense in the context of world 🌍 football ⚽.

The best youth players are discovered playing in football teams across the globe and after outstanding performancescin club and league selected for national age grade teams. Not the other way round.

For instance Obi Arsenal most prolific 16 year old striker playing for both U18 and 21 has played for both Denmark and England age grade teams. His performanced in club and league got him noticed not selection for age grade national youth teams.

England had only recently taken U17 national football a bit more serious.

We should not be talking about age grade competitions prior to 2015 . Where we had confirmed Uncles like Stanley Okoro, Fortune Chukwudi, Sami, Onazi, etc but of course Omeruo was actually 15 if you want to believe.

Finally, maybe we should redefine what we mean by stars, because at every level there are stars. Village stars, local stars and world class stars like Neymar, Allison, etc.

But in terms of world football an anonymous low level defender.
