To See People Deported To Their States, Wait For State Police- Shehu Sani by Gjrich(m): 12:22pm On May 05, 2024 |
Former Senator Shehu Sani has spoken on the ongoing debate surrounding the establishment of state police in Nigeria, citing concerns over its potential implications for citizens. In a recent statement posted on his official social media account, Sani addressed the growing demand for state police as a result of the country's rising security challenges. "If you want to see how people will ‘packed up and deported’ to their states of Origin, wait for State Police," Shehu Sani wrote. Sani's remarks come at a time when calls for the creation of state police forces have gained momentum in response to the inadequacies of the centralized law enforcement system in addressing local security threats. Many argue that the establishment of state police would enable more effective and responsive law enforcement at the grassroots level, tailored to the unique needs of each state. However, critics, including Sani, express concern regarding the potential misuse of state police powers, particularly in the aspect of political interference and abuse of authority. Sani's reference to individuals being "packed up and deported" to their states of origin raises concerns about the possibility of state police being used as tools for marginalization. The former senator's statement reflects general doubt within the Nigerian citizens regarding the possibility and implications of decentralizing law enforcement powers. 2 Likes 1 Share

Yawn 🥱 Sani with a stupid hypothetical 😴. States can't force people to leave legally. If they do, it will be challenged in court. Assuming you did a crime, the other option to relocation to state of origin is jail time. Lol just ask yourself which option you pick if you were a law offender 🤷🏿. Just out of curiosity, why do the paranoid fear mongers never tell you what the federal police will do? If the states are violating rights, you'd expect the federal government to step in. Why are we expected to believe they won't in this circumstance? PS: If State police happened tomorrow. It will be like state prisons. It won't be funded for years because they aren't interested. These services aren't free. |

State police have come to stay! Deport anybody with a manageable means and the person comes back the next day because as a Nigerian, you can stay anywhere in Nigeria |

Honestly, state police is a potential powder keg. Imagine a few shady politicians controlling a whole police formation for their own selfish agenda.. Impact studies need to be done before implementation |

Whole villages are being decimated by bandits they won't worry about that. Imaginary deportation that is highly unlikely is their problem. Perhaps we should even amend the constitution that if you are found guilty of committing a crime in one state the state may legally ban you from coming there for 10 years. laws are made to serve people, not the other way around. let each state cater to their own criminals. |
