TheRealestGuy: Why are you guys bitter ? Government is only paying 30% or less-in this project the rest is public, private partnership that’s why they’re tolling it which is reasonable, if FG was the one providing everything then I can listen to some of the criticism. |

Dave Umahi is worse than Tinubu. He's a criminal. Taking a look a the key points raised in this editorial, it's very clear that this is a conduit to divert resources we don't have into personal pockets. For years, ASUU was on strike cause of failure of government to pay the annual revitalisation fund of N220 billion that was agreed in 2009 under Jonathan which was partly paid by him. After his exit, our universities are yet to be substantially funded by preceding governments but they're always quick to release funds to be looted. Our healthcare system is in shambles, many Highway road are death traps in many parts of the country as cited but they chose to abandon them for this white elephant project that's of no economic value and a time the country is in economic crisis led into it by bad decisions of the same government. So many roads of its kind previously embarked by previous administrations have been abandoned but instead of completing them or repairing those that are bad like the administration of Buhari tried to do(thanks to him), Umahi with his criminal Lord has chosen to prioritise personal interest to the detriment of our resources and our common need. Umahi is very corrupt as Tinubu. He did same in Ebonyi, borrowed money to build useless flyovers while workers in the state starved. The good for nothing airport he built has generated not even a penny into the purse of the state and the money used for it could have been used for other economically viable projects, but nah, the over estimated irrelevant flyovers and airports which were also a conduit were his priorities. 4 Likes 2 Shares |

Was that not how people talked about his health issues instead of facing his nonperformance record in Lagos Is this not helping him reduce the discussion and anger against the double jeopardy of hiked fuel price from removed subsidy with scarcity and queues? 2 Likes 2 Shares |

LadyExcellency:hello, the government operates not like a family as your illustration suggests, the government operates on budget and plan.because you want to build hospitals does not mean you ignore schools, because you need roads doesn’t mean you ignore housing.government plans can run concurrently according to plan and budget. Giant projects like this are very expensive but once completed they are investments that span over a very long period, like the third mainland bridge has been constructed since when many users here were not born and generations will still see it if properly maintained.the government left some other projects then to construct the bridge, same thing as the niger bridge too. 1 Like |

anonymous1759:So since the road will be tolled and the people who use the road will pay tolls, it is okay for the contract to be awarded in a shaddy manner? What if the total real cost of the project is the $4bn to be contributed by FG and it was simply inflated to $15trn to justify the tolling? 1 Like |

Kukutente23: My personal take , I don’t think there’s any project in Nigeria that’s transparent even if it’s an open bid , they’ll still award the contract to who they want . If you criticize this project you should do so too to all the projects across Nigeria. Picking which project to criticize will make it bias , develop countries still face things like this , EU chairlady Ursa is been accuse of some COVID shady deals , no continent is perfect, let’s say no human is perfect but some are more transparent than the other that’s the difference. To me as long as you execute the project in a place like Nigeria I’m ok with it , because In Nigeria we’ve leaders who receive money for project ending up doing nothing and still working freely . By international standard of corrupt practices all past Nigerian leaders should be in jail I don’t know who you support but you did because you seen he’s a lesser evil or preferable but not perfect. I support the project because Lekki deep seaport , Lekki bridge and 2nd Niger bridge was done through that way and it worked . The benefits outweighs the disadvantages. |

benuejosh: Oga. Just shut up, the road will still connect to the costal areas of the SS. So some from Asaba going to Lagos can’t use that road. And beside whose goonna fix the existing bad federal roads? You are the bitter one here. 1 Like 1 Share |

LadyExcellency: They are paid hands. They are on monthly salary to do these things. Know this and know peace. They are the reason the evil APC has been increasing unemployment so that they can recruit jobless ones to things like this. The reality is that they are in minority but create hundreds of accounts to make it look like they are many by liking each others comments. Don’t be fooled. We outnumber them by 10 to 1. Our only issue is INEC. And the only solution is to aggressively focus our energy there. 1 Like |

What you guys are doing is wicked to the bone Niger Delta is the goose that Lays Nigeria's Golden eggs and after 40years FG wants to do something Substantial for them by building them a Coastal Highway and you are now fighting against it You no Shame? Yet You saw Buhari building Railway for his People even to Niger using the Niger Delta's resources Don't you know that at least Half of what was used to build Abuja was supposed to have gone to the Niger Delta as infrastructure for the sake of Fairness and non exploitation? FG has Cheated Niger Delta so badly for decades to the extent that they don't even argue about it again they only give them fake promises to improve their behavior towards the Niger Delta and because of a Single Road you are here fighting Selfish people 1 Like |
