DoWhatThouWilt: Do they?
I love and enjoy my current state of bachelorhood and honestly I do not have the desire to get married now or in future because personally I have come to the realisation that men are living in a world today where there are too many impossible expectations to meet.
Recently, I have been noticing subtle hints of envy from my colleagues at work who are married just from the statements they make.
For example, they usually try to belittle me with statements like You're still a small boy, you don put woman for house? whenever we are having non heated argument over a topic that doesn't even concern marriage in anyway.
When it is their turn to work for some few hours on weekends they make statements like Men like us no suppose they do duty, na una (single men) suppose do am as if I don't have other affairs to attend to during the weekend.
So married men in the House, Do you people envy single men?
You're question is like asking; Do the rich envy the poor? How can a marry man envy bachelorhood. Even a married man with failed marriage will not envy bachelorhood. When you grow pass bachelorhood, those life of bachelors will no longer fascinate you to a point of trying to go back to it. Just like a fully grown man craving to be a boy again. You'll only look at the lifestyle of that little boy and laugh but not wishing to be like him again. 4 Likes 1 Share |

My next door neighbour is a bachelor, the way the guy enjoys different girls, sometimes 3 in a day, is enough to get you jealous. I feel I didn't enjoy my bachelorship enough
Now I know why men die before their wives šš I can feel you bossš!! And the funniest and most pretentious part of it all is, that hypocritical look you give him whenever your parts crossed. A look of "see how irresponsible you're this boy (with a disgusting look)". And the single guy may even feel worried, shameful or guilty after the look, not knowing that we secretly wished for such, throwing all caution to the wind !!! 6 Likes |

Not really
Why? There's nothing you enjoy single that you miss when married. You even gain more. Good kids, God's provision, your focus, your business grows and you realise that death is real. 1 Like 1 Share |

Princewill1: If you were born in a poor family or in an average income family, life is already leading you by 1:0.
If your father is not present in your life as a growing young man, life is leading you by 2:0.
Then if you later marry without fixing yourself, life is leading you by 3:0.
At this point, It will be extremely difficult for you to equalize and later win in life. Highly insightful.š This is one of the reasons I don't want to rush into marriage. I need to fix myself and become well-to-do to some extent before marrying. 3 Likes |

franchasofficia: I will answer you sincerely as I can as a happily married man that I am.
I am married and very happy being married for some reasons I will list below:
1.) I married a wonderful lady. So understanding, accommodating, calm, coordinated, mature and above all, she is too fine like, OMG. I sometimes wonder how her male colleagues cope. She once said one of her directors said he doesn't know why the prettiest ones in her profession love rushing to marry as if something is pursuing them lol.
The only thing I disliked about my wife initially was her profession which I use to despise but after being married to her for some years now, I have come to cherish her profession more than ever before, as it seems to be the most respected profession in the world and the level of respect it draws towards her and myself from all angles; Church, societal gatherings, family, etc made me realized that I married a rare gem.
Another thing I do correct her whenever both of us are around at same time is how she screams at domestic staffs when they do something wrong, which she do later apologize. This is the only flaw I have seen in her which I have been working hard to correct and there seems to be great improvement. Seems that thing is a natural weakness for most black women, sighs
2.) Another reason I am always excited being married is my kids; if you set your eyes on my kids, you will become angry with yourself that you are still single, but remember, those lovely creatures cost a fortune to keep them glittering and sparkling like star. They give me so much joy, especially my super gorgeous daughter, OMG, that chick is going to shake the world positively of course I see the greatness in her already.
3.) I sincerely doubt if I would have gotten to where I am in life today at my young age if I had remained single. My wife helped organized my life, especially financially because before I married her, I wasn't financially organized in the sense that I spent money foolishly on useless things and had awkward mentality about getting married. I always saw marriage as tying myself down from exploring
But today, if I look back at my little achievements at my age, I just give God the glory because e no easy at all (I have to praise myself because it's not easy being an employer of over 15 persons including domestic staffs and even an Asian).
Imagine paying different office rents worth between 5million to 7million annually for how many years straight now no borrowing or panicking. The joy is endless for me.
I doubt if I would have achieved this being single cos oringo for don finish me with how bad and insatiable I became after I started seeing good income. Forget stories, marriage organize lots of men who are lucky to marry their soulmate like me.
3.) Another reason I feel happy being married is the respect and dignity it brings especially in Nigeria. Among family members, friends, Church gatherings, events. If you take good care of your family (wife and kids) and you guys go out for outing or vacation, you will see how the world admires you as the man, their smiling stares alone will make you proud of having your own family.
Now I will have to be blunt on some of the things I do imagine and maybe miss as a married man.
1.) The thought of being so free to mingle and bring any chick you catch home without worries, this makes me envy single guys sometimes when I am having skosko
That feeling of having different hot chicks fly in from all corners of the city to come visit you can make a successful man cancel the issue of getting married lol
It's always sweet having Cynthia visit this week, and Nelly to come next 2 weeks while discussing with Aisha on her month end visitation
Na only here I de envy you single guys once in a while
2.) Another time I get somehow pissed being married is when my kids carers are off duty and wifey not around, and I am left with them alone in the house when I have something to do outside the house. These kids can frustrate your life that you may feel like running away. Daaadyyy daddyyy daddyyy like your name will be ringing repeatedly like a song on repeat, and they don't understand mood, they want you to play 247 non-stop until God sends sleep their way, that is the only time you will have rest lol.
And if you dare shout at them, someone like my daughter will yell out and rush to hold you so tight with a very heartbreaking cry that will leave you melted
3.) Lastly, another thing that might make some married guys envy single guys is the expenses. Honestly I pity financially struggling married young men because I can't even imagine it. How are they coping? If I release the figure of what my two kids alone consume and the cost of taking care of them, including cost of paying for their carer and nanny, many people will scream. I know such money could build mansion in a year if saved, but then, who knows if I didn't have them, I might be wasting more than that on frivolities, foolish jamboree and chicks
So op, not all married men envy single guys but once in a while you as a young below 40yrs married man will miss your single guy days, and it's mostly when it comes to freedom to mingle with chicks and bring chicks to your bachelor house, aside that, I doubt any genuinely married guy envy single guys, maybe there might be some who are married to the wrong ladies sha Seun suppose make you a moderator in the Family Section. All rounder and largely honest. 4 Likes 1 Share |

It's almost hilarious how you attempt to sound like your lovely marital situation is the norm. Most married men are living in regrets. Thank God for your wife and for God leading you to choose her over others. But stop sounding like she is the default greypencils: What is there to envy in bachelorhood? Married men are leaving legacies, children that would bear their name and preserve their bloodline. They have a woman who bears their name and carries their name wherever she goes. As a single man, you have girlfriends and none is loyal to you. As a married man, you have someone who has got your back, someone who has sworn her life and tied it to yours, someone who has left her family and sees you as the number one person in her world. I am proudly married and loving it. What is there to miss in single hood? Multiple pussies? The money I would spend on pussies is what I am saving in a trust for my children. So tell me, Who is envying who? 5 Likes |

Everyone has a right to his opinions. I have aired mine. You can air yours without recourse to mine. As in, your world might be fuucked up, you don't believe in love, you don't believe a woman can be loyal to you, you don't believe you can enjoy married life, that's your world, claim it with your full chest. Now I know why men die before their wives But you can keep side chicks nah, you men enjoy that in marriage unlike women. Provided you have enough money to Carter for a wife and a girlfriend d same time, I envy married men more than single guys. A man who says he regrets getting married obviously doesn't know his birthright (although hidden) as a man or he's still poor and struggling. The pride and self esteem that comes with single ladies falling all over for a married man that's well-to-do can't be compared to any other thing. What you men don't understand is, Once u tell any lady u re married, you automatically seen as a financially stable guy, or at least, you are trying to some extent. ABI NOR BE WHO CHOP BELLEFULL DEY MARRY? Why will you envy a single guy? Such married man doesn't know his worth. Am not advising any man to neglect his family responsibilities for sidechicks o, only those who can afford it, can see beyond the limitations. 3 Likes 3 Shares |

At this stage in your life your peers that are married seemed to be going through the topsy turvey, challenging phase of raising children, coping with spouse and paying bills. That makes singleness attractive with its relative less hassles, butā¦ Thereāll come a time when a good number of your married peers wonāt be complaining about bills or raising kids anymore. Instead theyāll be chilling out in the evening and discussing how their sons win contracts or get new jobs.., or how their daughterās Wedding got them feeling different. Some could even be addressed as grandpa by some little kid and you eventually got to find out that your friendās daughter who got married a while ago is the mumā¦Turning around to find yourself single at such periods, leaves you with a huge void till the grave. Thatās not what you wanna achieve being single. The time you look in the mirror to discover youāve lost you exuberant look but get consoled by seeing a reflection of your hay days in the dashing man your son has turned out to become. When itās sowing time, sow. When itās day, work. When itās harvest time, harvest. Even nature will fight your efforts when you strive to sow in harvest. Retire well. End healthy and fulfilled. Better is the end of a matter thanā¦ Although some married folks seem to rub their marriage in your face. This can come from the hunger for validation and social acceptance or trying to indicate superiority. Itās stupid for me. Singleness is cool. Whichever you choose, donāt let time come to find you wanting eventually. Remember, tick says the clock, tick tick. What you have to do, doā¦ 3 Likes 2 Shares |
