It's the long time the express entry always takes that just tires me out. I see people saying it took them years on the queue noni.

Can share with me a link to a thread I can read on how to stack up points and all?

This one that all countries are even making the student route with spouse difficult sef just tire me; would've gone through that route sef

https://www.nairaland.com/6829885/canadian-express-entry-federal-skilled#107239666

You can go through the link.

I recommend you go to their website, it's well detailed on what you need for each point and at each stage.

You can use this link to calculate your score:

https://ircc.canada.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/crs-tool.asp

The last express entry draw was done in March 25 and the minimum CRS score was 524.

When you calculate your CRS, using the link I sent above, it will show whether you are eligible to apply or not. If you have M.Sc and fluent in French, it will boost your CRS score.

.....this is problem with most of you. If they support the policies, una go dey curse dem. They are speaking against it, una dey screenshot for cheap engagements. LOL!

Yes, and what is wrong with that? 😂😂

Is it our fault that you guys supporting BATeria man is a double-edged sword that can be used against you any which way?

In my view, it perfectly makes sense o, when you're supporting rubbish. Because rubbish will always put out rubbish. So you defend rubbish, we'll drag you; you criticize rubbish, we'll still drag you for initially supporting rubbish with your eyes wide open.

There is NO win for you in any case.

True.

But one may not need a French exam certificate if one's IELTS (Test of English) score is high.

A friend was trying the Canada express route around 2016 and the information I can gather from him is that

Its calculated on a Point system
Age matters - the younger the better and more points you get, your points reduce with age. (Obviously they are lookin for younger people to contribute to the economy not those too old)

The higher the education the better and more points for Phd than with Masters and with Bachelors

Canada has 2 Official languages, if you have excellent abilities in both languages it boost your points

So the ideal person will be a 27yr old perfectly bilingual person like Popi or hensb3n with a MSc or Phd

The main test for English is IELTS and the higher you score the better for your points, Its graded from like 1-9. You need to aim for 8 to 9 to get the highest points

They publish a cutoff score when the draws are made. Once your calculated score meet the cutoff you get an Invitation to submit your application
Use this link below to calculate your score
https://ircc.canada.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/crs-tool.asp

This link below will show you history of draws made till date to know where the last cutoff was and what you can do to get above the cutoff

https://www.canadavisa.com/express-entry-invitations-to-apply-issued.html

E.g last cutoff for General was 529 for the draw made on April 23. If your CRS score is showing less than 500, You need to look for ways to boost it cos it will take a miracle to get them to drop it that low

They have a number they want to send invitation to, they determine a cutoff point that will make them get that exact number

Thanks, I'm trying to calculate the points now. What are the ideal IELTS scores acceptable to them?

High IELTS score with French will boost your score and your chances by like 70%. Like 2 regions need applicants that are fluent in French so it is an added advantage.

7 at the very least.

Just like Egbon Dayo said, age is very important. If you are below 30, its 20pts. From 31 upward the score reduces as the age increase.

Most people applying as a couple usually use the youngest one among them as the primary applicant.

Modified.

If you have 5 to 10 years work experience, a bachelor degree and can get full score in IELTS…. Canada express entry sure pass.
Nigerians are still relocating with that route.

Isn't it scary that we now look back and say the days you left were good old days.

Imagine looking back at today in the future and wishing things can go back to how they currently are.

We have always looked back to the previous 5-10yrs and long for those times. The problems of 1980s 1990s are still there and new ones are piling on top

You will see newspaper of 1985 where fuel queues dey, I witnessed fuel queues in he 90s and 2000s Today we are still facing same. Same story with NEPA, Same story with ASUU etc

The industry in which the work experience is matters also.

If it falls under the labor shortage list, it's a massive advantage.

With current draw scores, there's no way your IELTS want to be high to that you won't need something else to package profile, either you're learning TCF/TEF, or you're lucky enough to be in the in-demand professions with reasonably low scores (health, agriculture and transportation).

They do drop the minimum score sometimes depending on the average score of those in the pool when the draw is happening. My friend got in in 2018 with 380 when they dropped the score from around 420 or so.

Though the best option is to try and pass the last draw minimum point.

Some advise that you enter and create a profile regardless if you meet the point or not since almost all the region are now doing their own form of express entry now.

As with everything in life the express entry is getting more competitive. Like 15yrs ago anyone who scored 7 in IELTS go dey dance, Now if you score below 8 just go rewrite, Human beings not just Nigerians, Indians Asians have turned this to a full time hustle and are finding routes to beat the system and get higher scores, Before MSc was almost sure for you right now number of MsC in Nigeria alone has quadrupled in the last 10yrs

if they do 2 back to back draws, the score might drop by 5, but if they wait for over 2months to do a draw, many people will enter the pool and its almost guaranteed that it will spike

All those undesired provinces self now people don open eye to them Saskatchewan Yukon don be like California for people eyes nowadays,

Express entry is the best after say family dey file for you. You enter as a permanent resident, meaning you can start working legally immediately even if na jamajama hustle job. Cos the biggest problem with japa is getting papers to work

Jobs are hard to get in every country currently even for naturally born citizens now come imagine how hard it is for person wey no even get paper
