Tokumbo may come with small wahala like the batteries getting weak or not all that strong. Na person like you and Valto go couple cells to make the car superb again like brand new ๐... isangjohnson: 1 Like |

Is it not more feasible to convert used Nigerian bikes to electric. The DIY Way. Is the cost way more than buying Tokunbo bikes? mctfopt: |

Valto:if you still wan use nepa no wam... If you can draw 7.2KW from nepa for just ten hours.... That should be enough to run you 400km on average before next charge,..if you rarely drive above 100km/h you can get up to 500km of range with AC.... With even band A and its high price, a typical 75Kwh battery can be charged for less than 18,000 naira worth of electricity,..... My house is on band B.....That same 75kwh battery if i use nepa charge am e no go chop up to 6,000 naira worth of electricity... abeg which car today wey 18k fuel go carry am from abuja to kaduna and back to abuja without refuel.... 2 Likes |

Valto:but non the less.... The people that are eager to buy the most, are people who have a large array already we are talking of 20KW and above.... The first house i saw victron and fronius being combined, the house had a 40kw array, producing 150kwh a day na normal thing for the man setup.... Some days e de hit 180kwh a day...but its just a house of a family of four, the couple plus two children....setup like this na electric car(s) remain to take all the excess... 3 Likes |

scottsland: China sells conversion kits. But you've got to be a hardcore ebike enthusiast to do one. |
Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by mctfopt: 6:21pm On May 09 |
Valto: The idea of it is to maintain the speed I stepped out of the house with. Due to size, weight, and cost, unless you asked for it to be customised; most ebike batteries are Lion. |

Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Edrizz(m): 9:51pm On May 09 |
mctfopt: But a lot of people in here were of the opinion that its only voc of the inverter that one mustn't go beyond that going above the rated current guarge will not harm the inverter... but still how did resolve the code ? |

Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Parser: 10:22pm On May 09 |
HeavenlyBang: Power is not power when it comes to inductive load. It's because you're using inverter AC. You can go lookup on batteryless setup on YouTube, you will see AC doesn't want to power with 10A Pv and 400V until the guy had to add another array to increase current. 1 Like |

To those running solar, I'm just curious. When last did you use your generator? Did you have to sell it after installing your solar? |
Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by HeavenlyBang(m): 11:06pm On May 09 |
Edrizz: Jinko 580w. 11.68A NOCT ISC. STC ISC is 14A. Parser: Tbf, it's important to point out that I don't have a batteryless setup. I have a lifepo4 battery hooked up, but it just doesn't draw any current from it when running the AC. I'm essentially pulling 150v+ from my PVs in the afternoon, I'm sure the inverter does all the necessary conversions. |
Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by HeavenlyBang(m): 11:11pm On May 09 |
Sapiosexuality: Ultimately comes down to what setup you have. Average inverter is more powerful than the average generator in terms of pure capacity. No reason why you'd need a generator if your battery and PVs are equally capable. That said, an emergency power source is always welcome. For me, the only appliances I wouldn't be comfortable running off my inverter are my water heaters. And that's just because my PVs are inadequate. 1 Like |

Sapiosexuality: I only have my generator because it is condition for renting my current accomodation as tenants take turn to pump water using generator every week. Lately, I have been tinkering with the idea of convincing my landlord to install a solar pumping machine. Still thinking about it though |

There's a man I know, since he got he's solar system installed, he hasn't touched he's mikano generator for like 5 years and counting. What he later did was to programme it to come on every Sunday to run and warm the engine for about 5 mins .... It just might come in handy someday is the reason some still keep theirs .... Can foreign Inverters work in Nigeria? Those sold on Amazon Like this one https://www.amazon.com/PowMr-Inverter-220-230V-Controller-LiFePO4/dp/B0CGMKK354/ |

Sapiosexuality: I hate generator. Been running on solar since 2014. It was my hate for generator that made RE very attractive to me. I never seem to get the hang of fixing a generator. I also hate the way it disappoints you when you least expect it. 3 Likes |
