The Oyo people resident in Nigeria and witnessing how disappointing he has been as a minister have been rejecting him online .

But on Nairaland , APC people are supporting him as usual and can’t wait for him to be Oyo state governor simply cos he’s an APC member…. SMH

Then imagine those numbers being split in two for the two different routes that lead South...maybe Jagabandit would kuku go Yahaya-Bello and excavate portions of the Lagos-Benin route so traffic moves to the unnecessary Lagos-Calabar coastal road.

Government by tumbo tumbo...the policy never made any sense, but trust cornvicts to drum support for it. I guess this is what you get when you only need the brain and not the body that's supposed to go with it.

Imagine senators saying they wouldnt have passed it if they knew the financial implication. They just pass anything they like without understanding what they are passing.

Glad common sense eventually prevailed.

Osita Chidoka certainly knows his Nigerian roads and numbers . He was very brilliant on this interview 👏

At the initial stage and looking on face value , the coastal road project looked like a good idea and great idea for a legacy project . Away from the demolition of properties , villages, and shanties along the route to make way for the road ;
It looked like a good project .

But following the recent controversial revelations about the bidding process , the non-approval of the project by the house of assembly and no record of ESIA report before the commencement of the project; it all looks like just a way for some people to lace their pockets with government scarce resources while claiming it is for the good of the people.

Funny enough , I have been seeing Hitec doing a project starting from behind kuramo apartments in VI since earlier this year and at no point did I ever know it was the Coastal road. In fact nobody knew anything about the project cos it was never advertised for bidding , publicized or anything until maybe march or April when the media space was awash with the completion of first phase of the project.

Like why keep the whole thing a secret until they had committed the country’s funds to project of such magnitude ?

Osita raised an issue that should bother anybody who claims to love Nigeria. Where will the Chagouris get the funding for their own part of the counterpart funding ? Do we have banks or finance corporations that just release funds without sighting necessary vital documents from the procurement process to execution stage ?

My current employers are currently on a project that involves them getting funding from a global finance corporation. I know the kind of documentations we’ve been dealing with from the beginning of this year . They ask for every bloody documents u can think of. They have independent consultants that calls us almost every time for one documentation or the other ; the slightest indication that u are not ready to make available some of those requirements is a deal breaker .

So will the chagouris just dip their hands into part of the money they helped Abacha loot to fund the project or they have money stashed somewhere other than the reported estimate of $4.2 billion being the value of their business interests worldwide ?

Lagos-badagry expressway should be a lesson to everyone. The project lasted for over a decade and it was not completed because of funding issues.

Okay, maybe I should’ve said some or most APC members . When i made that post I wasn’t even referring to people on this thread sef.

I read posts on the politics section and I see what they say about him which makes me cringe. Like they don’t care if someone that has had no meaningful impact on the ministry he presides on becomes the governor of their state simply cos he’s a member of their party.

The thing just get as e be.

Again, we all know the main reason is to develop a certain city and maybe a region at most.

Hence why you had a supporter of tinubu claim the southerners should be happy this project is happening for us.
I'm sure there will be those who will want to use ethnic angle for SW guys to not complain.

That project is mainly for Eko Atlantic City which also favours Lagos.
But again make we dey watch.

If the primary aim of the project was even to develop a particular region, or even a city sef, it'd be good, but it's not, the primary aim of the project is to benefit Tinubu and his cronies. If a region or city benefits in the process, it's incidental, not intended; or you think the coastal road will on a norms make top 10 most important projects to the South West?

I don’t think the project is about favoring any particular region . It’s a project that spans South west and South South.

The project just looks like a convenient excuse to line some people’s pockets with funds for generations to come(if and when it gets completed )

Remember the mess about the Lekki concession company that was revealed after the ENDSARS protest in Lagos when the LASG which had earlier claimed it has paid off LCC claimed LCC needed to recoup their money and so tolling of the Lekki expressway must continue whether we like it or not ?

These people just come up with a lot of initiative that are shrouded in secrecy that benefits no one but the parties to the mysterious arrangements . Yet u have people that will always defend them no matter how unreasonable they sound

It’s not about beating any dead horse. The koko of the matter is that ur support for Wike goes beyond a normal citizen siding with a governor that performed while in power; ur support for Wike goes beyond that and it’s obvious .

Image 1 shows Ibime predicting Wike will get burned by Sim who he hopes to be his godfather by replicating Tinbu’s Lagos structure . Guess what ur reply to him was ?

Image 2 and 3 shows u supporting godfatherism
Cos u believe Fubara is will remain a loyal sheep that will relinquish his executive powers to Wike and allow Wike to rule from Abuja while he(Fubara ) remains a dummy.

Omo ! u no really like Rivers state like that o. U just want Wike to be the alpha and omega of the state till eternity . For what exactly ?
There are what we call party agents or loyalist to politicians.

I know some of them. Whenever a politician wants to organize something or mobilize people in a certain community, there are men that run it. The dude is obviously one of Dem.

There use to be one that kept defending rochas Okorocha during Ihedioha short tenure and half of Uzodimma tenure too till ported fully to Hope Uzodimma's club.

Dayo can be classified as an APC supporter yet didnt support APC Telsim Folarin in the last Oyo APC Governorship election and supported Adelabu instead.

It is the same Adelabu that he's defending today. That's to tell you that Dayo will defend the man whether he's in APC or not.
