Faiththatworks: I would have said you guys should stop yapping nonsense, but I won't. Despite FAC and oil derivation, most Niger Delta governors are just lazy in thinking through their challenge all they clamour for is more money with little or nothing to show for. Go to northern states that do not share up to half of what these Niger Delta states receive they are out performing them by miles. This entitlement mentality especially by the youths and all those so called leaders are taking us back to square one . Small allocation una leaders no fit manage na wetin big pass them dem dey always ask for. Personally, they do not deserve all these things they are calling for. Go north and see what their governors are doing and shame go catch you say you dey talk this kind talk. PS: I am a pure Niger Delta guy from Edo State so you no fit say I no be Niger Deltan based on wetin I talk. |

Sleekfingers: Building roads, paying salaries and pensions they can't do much with the current faac allocations building mega structures like we see in Lagos and Abuja will forever remain a dream in the niger delta if nigeria don't restructure. |

NorthernAgender:You are the uninformed one here. Go and do proper research of Nigeria's main revenue sources and exported agricultural produces from the 1940s to 1960s. Export of Palm oil, palm kernel, natural rubber, and timber (which were all gotten mainly from the Niger Delta region and the South East) contributed to Nigeria's national income far more than the export of groundnut, cotton, and cocoa. |

Again, lets have true federalism so each state controls their resources. How they manage their resources is their business patrickmuf: |

DMerciful:I am from the Niger delta, one of the highest oil producing areas of the Niger Delta fir that matter. Can you please explain how your own ideas of resource control works. Even within the states of the Niger Delta, not every Local Government or community is an oil producing one. |

Creamypie:E no concern you. I am a Bayelsa, and I support Diri. Allow us to have full control of our resources and security. Instead of allowing abokis and their south western wife to continue to loot us blind in fake one nigeria, let fellow Ijaws do that. At least, the people can face them squarely. |

Onogiede: Without federal govt allocation and federal govt not sharing in Lagos IGR, Lagos state will be fine You m0rons are just jealous of Lagos state but still can't leave, most of you can even kee your parents for ritual to be able to afford to rent house in Lagos Having said that one would expect you to mention your region as one of the beneficiary of Niger delta oil but you won't because of the attached by force of SE/SS that SS have publicly rebuke politically and during the civil war Are Igbo govs not collecting allocation? What's the internal revenue of average Igbo state that developed them and pay their civil servants if not for federal allocation derive from Niger delta oil If Lagos allocation is withheld Lagos will be fine, so I wonder how you think an industrialize states, investors favourites state sit their ass down like your gov for Niger delta oil |

wirinet:At least, most of the communities are among the impacted communities, either pipeline running through their lands, or proximity to gas flare. Aside that, it is high time healthy competition is encouraged. Communities or states without oil can take loans from those who have to start up major infrastructure that will enhance production. They can develop themselves with that and then be able to pay back the loan. Bayelsa can loan kaduna state or any other, and within stapulated time they will pay up. So we just want total control of our resources. I am from an oil producing community in Bayelsa; in fact my family is the host or landlord. It annoys me that my resources is shared with the northerners who keep their gold and others to themselves. And also the yorubas who undermine us through their support for one Nigeria that is not working. |

Same federalism happens in USA, Canada etc so we cannot copy a political system and copy it wrongly. The states are sub-nationals with the state government and state house of assembly. Resources of a state should be managed at that level and a certain percentage paid to the federal govt to run the military, immigration, federal government, customs. The communities within the states have what they can collect tax on but ultimately the state manages the resources for every resident of that state. When things are manged at subnational levels, its easier to manage. There will also be competition among states. wirinet: |

Remove that "Icon of Unity" from the award. what are you unifying with this your remarks? even if the whole federal allocation is given to you, you will still complain. Some states are recieving just 2 billion Naira monthly allocation and they have more Land mass, population and infrastructures than you. Misplaced priorities. |
