I will demolish the house should I be the owner, some tenants just like making troubles. Even if Fayose brother stole the money he used in building the house then what stops the tenant to go steal so he can also become landlord?🤷‍♂️

If your thieving brother of a former governor didn't steal state funds that he cornered to you through direct stealing or fraudulent contracts, where would you have had the money to buy land and build house in Abuja?
Serves him right. If he doesn't like the court processes he should demolish the house and see equally dubious and crafty tenants make millions from him.

How is he different from the agulu failure that looted his state dry to fun his family business in foreign land as revealed by Pandora papers

The court system for eviction should be sorted out. They should have special quick courts for such civil matters . Nigerians are very dubious by nature, they will take advantage of the system for as long as possible.

The tenants knows you didn't work for the money that you use to build the house.

Sometimes I regrets buildings houses for tenant's. Most of them are so wicked that after making the first payment they locked up and started giving excuses. They are the ones that will even take you to court.
Is this a common problem?

God bless you.

This is why I keep telling people that buying houses to rent out for income in retirement is not reliable investment.

For every 10 tenants, you would see like 5 doing well if you're lucky.

If you're unlucky, you put a particular tribal people like 7 out of 10 tenants, your own don finish. You'll die quicker in retirement bcoz they will not pay.

So, the n3xt thing is to demolish the house?
What happens to sueing them? So, demolishing thr house will pay him the 3 years rent owed him?
If they take you to court, u can as well take them to court
What does the tenancy law say about landlor-tenant payment relationship?
You cant owe a landlord 3 years and the law will not do justice to that except there is something else Mr. Fayose is not telling the public
That’s what Lagos State thought him na.

For even contemplating demolishing the house means that you didn't build the house with your hard earned money.

He is saying the truth oh
A tenant has been owing landlord for more than 3 years in my compound. This tenant don't contribute for anything in the compund. But whenever we fix an issue, he will be the first to use it. Everyone in my compound is tired of him. Since 2021, he refused to pay rent. Landlord took him to court & won. But the tenant appealed, the case is still in court. Our Judiciary system is very slow & some evil tenants capitalize on this. How can u stay in a property for more than 3 years & refuse to pay rent? People are something else

Sometimes tenants makes this real estate business uninteresting. The return on house investment is very low & slow, upon this, u will still have to deal with wicked tenants. There is one in my compound, he refused to pay landlord rent for over 3 years now.

In addition, the return on house investment is very slow & low. U are not even sure of recouping your invested funds before death, talk more of making profit. On top this, u will now have to deal with wicked tenants who splits these payments with serious hassles across the year, that u won't even know what u did with the money. The investment get as e be to be very honest. & our judiciary are not helping matters. These tenants cases can last for up to 5 years & the tenant will be staying in the house for free. I don't think it is fair on the part of the landlord. There is one in my compound, refused to pay rent over 3 years, whenever I see the landlord, I just feel pity for him & he is retired.
