South Korea lays claim to all of the Korean peninsula, so the South Korean population also includes those in North Korea. Anyone who can escape from North Korea to the South is automatically awarded Citizenship.

Do North Koreans even have citizenship?
I heard that they are denied passports to prevent them from escaping and that only those that have love ones are allowed to travel out to do slave labour and send their earnings back for the upkeep of the state. Is this true? undecided
