Why Was Edo State Deliberately Cut-off From The Atlantic Ocean? by OredoPikin: 6:13pm On May 16 |
Here is a close look at the Nigeria map. It is worthy of note that Edo state is the only state in the entire South South without access to the Atlantic ocean. Why was Delta and Ondo state joined that way at the bottom instead of just extending Edo state to the Atlantic ocean What was the offense of Edo state to the person that carved out this map to warrant this injustice? Extending Edo state to the Atlantic ocean will never have affected Ondo and Delta state from having access to the ocean, but the person that carved out the map this way still cut-off Edo state regardless 5 Likes 1 Share

Edo has access to the Atlantic Ocean through the Benin River near the Atlantic Ocean. Check the map. The last map was before Nigeria was created. Benin Kingdom was connected the the Atlantic Ocean. 7 Likes 2 Shares

I don't know if it's boredom or joblessness but the rate at which people create mountains out of mole hills is worrisome. You'll just invent issues where there's none, to what end? 13 Likes |

OredoPikin:You have Nnamdi Azikwe to thank for that. Edo and Delta were part of the Western region until Azikiwe happened and it became Midwest region then Bendel state. The military helped Azikiwe finish work patapata and eventually divided it to Edo and Delta. 11 Likes 3 Shares |

chopnaira: Don't mind them. When Nnamdi Azikiwe was using Edo to push for creation of Mid-West region out of SW, even when Itshekiri group in Delta axis vehemently opposed this, Edo fully embraced it. Now, they're complaining. 21 Likes 5 Shares |

Tflex01:This thread alone was created out of envy and bitterness because of Cross River's announcement about securing funding for the deep sea port. The Ibo blood in him was likely likely posting on a different thread about the port being a waste of money or a white elephant project, but at the same time he is angry that Cross River is getting a deep sea port while they can't. The boy na chukudi calling himself Edo. The mad man can't stand the truth and he started cursing his generation and wretched papa for house 😂😂😂 13 Likes 2 Shares |

chopnaira:You really know Nigerian history. When they slap them with the truth, the victim gene and Inferiority complex personality disorders jumps out. An Ibo party (party was hijacked from the Yorubas) was at the centre of the mid west creation. A classic tale of divide and conquer. Azikwe indeed learnt one or two bad things from the British colonial government. 👇 13 Likes 1 Share

opamoses1:Ironically, when Zik was busy breaking the western region, he was not backing the creation of the Calabar- River-Ogoja (COR) state out of the Eastern Region. He was vehemently against COR state. Azikiwe sold them the dummy of Yoruba domination. I am sure we can all guess those that eventually got dominated after the Biafria war broke out. Let's not also forget that Ojukwu and Ironsi jailed Adaka Boro for trying to break out of the eastern region. Gowon played a smart move after the war by locking them in their Ibo region (land locked) to prevent them from trying to dominate any of the minorities again. The minorities were shown shege after declaration of Biafria. Ojukwu even appointed an Ibo man over mid west despite the opposition by Victor Banjo. Mummaduyusufu created several topics on the shege 14 Likes 2 Shares
