Hi please my 206 has entered eco mod and wonโ€™t start please help

Check your battery, if possible remove it for charging. Eco mode or economy mode appears to regulate power usage and preserve your battery. Your battery must have been overused recently.

I understand how frustrating it can be when your car won't start, especially when it enters "eco mode". Here are some things that could be causing the issue with your 206 Peugeot and possible solutions:

Potential causes:

Low battery: Eco mode can activate as a warning for a weak battery. Check the battery voltage with a voltmeter. If it's below 12.4 volts, it might need a jump start or replacement.
Faulty alternator: The alternator charges the battery. If it's malfunctioning, the battery won't get enough power, triggering eco mode. Check the alternator output.
Electrical fault: A parasitic drain, where something is slowly draining power even when the car is off, can also trigger eco mode. Disconnect the battery and check for a drop in voltage over time.
BSI (Body Service Interface) issue: The BSI controls various electrical functions in the car, including eco mode. A malfunction can cause it to stay activated. Resetting the BSI (with proper instructions) might help.
Sensor problems: Faulty sensors related to battery voltage, coolant temperature, or other factors can confuse the system and activate eco mode unnecessarily. Diagnosing and replacing any faulty sensors may be needed.
Things you can try:

Jump start the car: If the battery is low, try jump starting it. However, if this becomes a frequent occurrence, consider replacing the battery.
Check fuses: Frayed or blown fuses related to eco mode or essential starting components can cause issues. Check the relevant fuses in the fuse box and replace any faulty ones.
Consult the owner's manual: The manual might have specific troubleshooting steps for eco mode issues related to your 206 model.
Seek professional help: If you're not comfortable troubleshooting yourself, or if the above suggestions don't work, it's best to take your car to a qualified mechanic. They have the diagnostic tools and expertise to pinpoint the exact problem and fix it.
Additional tips:

Avoid leaving electrical accessories like lights or radio on for extended periods when the engine is off, as this can drain the battery.
Regularly maintain your car, including battery checks and alternator testing, to prevent future eco mode issues.
I hope this information helps you get your 206 Peugeot out of eco mode and back on the road! Remember, safety first. If you're unsure about any repair procedures, consult a professional mechanic

Good day House!
My new 406, 2004 seem to consume a lot of fuel compared to the ones I've earlier used.
I was told to change nozzles n O2 censors which I did. No much improvement
Now am being advised to change the catalytic converter which can cause a fortune I was told

Please any further advice?? I'll appreciate

Did you scan the car before changing parts? Catalytic converter has nothing to do with poor fuel efficiency of old peugeot cars which i know of. other factors can contribute to high fuel consumption like age of the engine, missing of thermostat , bad spark plugs, dirty air-filter etc

depends on your budget
I use 206 too and i recently changed to tokunbo grade A tires and they are working perfectly
If you can afford new ๐Ÿ†• then go for it
Use the same 14 inch rims too he get why
Go for Michelin,Hankook or Pirelli tires if you can afford them

Yes. You are right. Newer cars have too much wahala. The newer a car, the more electrics. The more electirc a car becomes, the less reliable and more complex to diagnose and fix. Days were gone when EFIs have less electronics. Then, a sensor could do a dual or various functions, which makes it easier to troubleshoot and cheaper to maintain. But now, more electronics are added to make EFIs more efficient, but suffers reliability on the other hand.

I did come accross a company (online) that repairs BSI unit. But i didnt save their contact (that i regret). It would have been the best solution than replacing the BSI unit with the engine ECU. I dont know if it could be possible to reprogram the newly purchased BSI unit to work with the engine ECU. But even if its possible, i doubt the possibility of finding a place it can be done in Nigeria. Have you tried Peugeot dealership/service centres? You never know. Also, have you asked the question or start a thread in Aussiefrogs forum on this your BSI issue?Trust me, you will get all you need to know about BSI in Aussiefrogs. There are so many Puegeot gurus there.

The truth is, I dont really know much or have much information on hw to troubleshoot BSI issues. Why? Because my 2 Lions are non-BSI. But whenever i replace my 605 v6 with phase II 406 v6, the BSI issues wont be alien to me anymore. I love such challenges and i do overcome them via DIY, as they come.

About the mileage issue, since some Nigerian car dealers tamper with vehicle mileage before selling, then that shouldnt be a problem to you. you just need to find one of them that can roll back yours for you. I dont know how they do it.

But seriously, why would a car not not have an external boot opener? Why should i depend on electric to open my car trunk? So that means if my car battery drains completely, i cant have access to the boot? Why didnt they also do the same with the bonnet, since they believe electrics are more reliable than mechanicals? Of course,if the car battery drains flat too, one wont be able to open the bonnet to even replace the dead battery. This thing with newer cars! So unrelable.

Rewire appears to have fried your ECU.

Replace ECU and incompetent rewire.

Fuvk!!! shocked But bros dis ur 'rewire' na Peugeot rewire NOT COROLLA one I HOPE.

You should try & check d fuses first, cause if I remember correctly, a certain 10 Amp fuse blows when u a sparks occurs during either fixing wires or changing bulbs( I sooo hope it's dis problem sha, cause d fuse na just 200 naira)

Second, make sure ur rewire actually fix d phone & not tapped power from anywhere( if he did, return to default & check why horn failed( check fuses first, then horn wires).

Third, probably touched d crank position sensor( check connection & fix it)

All above are easy to do in less than 30 minutes.

Last & unfortunate ๐Ÿ˜ž thing is, rewire probably damaged ur ECU, in dat case keep 30-40k ready. Good luck

Thanks. I guess he is a corolla rewire.

Ot was an honest mistake on my part. Is the ECU the same as brainbox or BSI?

Just visit a Peugeot garage, Peugeot car parts seller or Peugeot mechanic. They would point u in d right direction. I won't lie to 2 u though, ur pocket go feel am, cause d ecu, bsi & keys would probably have to be bought from d same car OR buy ECU alone & get it reprogrammed for ur car.

Rewires are a menace, sorry bros

Please I need your help ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿฝ, I use a tiger face Peugeot 307, I noticed that when I was driving on high speed, the car performs well but when I slow down and try to pick up the speed the car doesnโ€™t move. At a point someone on foot could overtake, I have to turn off the car and restart it to get it to work, I fixed my ABS repeatedly and finally I was told itโ€™s a gear problem and I was told that an automatic transmission gives more problem in Peugeot than a manual transmission; I was then advised to convert the car to a manual transmission. Please what do you all think?

PS: Iโ€™m a woman and know little about cars, I think the mechanics are not being honest with me as to my best options, please help me.
