izzou: To buy critical equipment parts for refinery ? Things that are not even made in Nigeria ? There are even some items that that when they order for them it will take over a year to get shipped cos the manufacturer will have to start making them. When I say they don’t call okey Japan and Ndubest, I mean they don’t call them to order through them cos it will cost the company more money doing so cos those ones will also import it and they will add profit margin . I was talking about critical equipment and parts . This is not made-up stuff , it is something I have info on. |

GloriousGbola: I currently have one in my mailbox. My friend got an order to supply metallic gaskets for an oil company (One of the big 3 in Nigeria), so we decided to source for it together. These companies will give you the brand they want, and the specification. They will ask for Data sheet and Test certificate sef. If you like, let your business name be God Bless BlueRayDick Brothers and Sons Investments, no be their headache. As long as you can bring exactly what they ask of you, you are good to go. |
Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by izzou(m): 12:29pm On May 19 |
BlueRayDick: Firstly, these companies work through Bidding. They have a set amount for a particular item. So, if you like, put all your financial problems on the quote, na that amount wey dem set dem go pay Secondly, The reason they will patronize Okey and Sons is because he can actually have it and supply it in 3 days. Ordering from abroad may take weeks to come. So, they rather settle for who has it and can deliver now (not forgetting they already have a set budget for it) Thirdly, I never see refinery parts before. I am just responding to your quote on if they patronize local sellers, and yes, Chevron, Shell, NLNG, all have their own Okeyson and Bros as vendors. I no sabi refinery parts. |

BlueRayDick: Na for Oba Akran road I do my IT in 2001, I saw the number of companies in that axis and the number of workers they employ. I hear say most of those companies have folded some sold to churches, all the manufacturing gone and replaced with imports all the employment gone and replaced with yahoo yahoo, Okada riders and crime |
Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by BlueRayDick: 12:49pm On May 19 |
izzou: If u check the initial post I responded to; it was about the claim that Dangote refinery employees supplied substandard parts that’s why the refinery couldn’t start on the scheduled date. I disagreed with the post because for starters I know when u want to set-up multi billion dollar facility in the oil and gas industry , u get ur funding from consortium of lenders .( mostly international and few local banks ) These lenders would draw up a common term agreement that will specify how u will go about the construction , it will name the international enginerring consultants of repute to handle the job, how u are to procure equipments and parts, the estimated start-up date, the insurances u are to take on the project from inception till start-up date, etc. Like everything will be written in black and white . The project won’t even commence if this is not signed by all parties . The lenders will have a trustee appointed who will have ensure the terms agreed are strictly adhered to throughout the life span of the project . It’s not like u will say u want to do something out of line. The borrower knows what is at stake and will put in place checks to ensure their employees don’t 4ck things up so they don’t lose funding cos the lender can pull out when such happens . When the project is completed and after some years u pay down on ur facility , u can decide to run the business however u deem fit. U can decide to start buying substandard parts if to cut cost in the short run. But as long as u are still answerable to the lenders , u won’t let ur employees 4ck things up for u 1 Like |

izzou:Before I go into farming I did not understand but now I do. Just this morning, I was told the price of clearing and making yam ridges on half acres of land I burst out laughing and told the person to not bother again. 80k for clearing and 140k for ridges. As I dey like this my eyes almost peel. We are playing with famine and that is a way bigger problem than the ones we are currently battling. I cannot even involve God in our predicament because it's the consequence of our deliberate action. When raumdeuter and co that are not base in the country are busy spilling gibberish before election and I see some people that are in the country agreeing with them I shook my head. Now who dey feel the burn. 4 Likes |

All these other expenses will not be less than 200k because only yam to plant will cost you around 50k. How much I wan sell the yam self. Itsrm:It's two different comments. Let me explain the two comments in sync. Going into farming I plan to cultivate 10 acres of land and plant maize and cassava but when the expenses was too much I have to reduce it to 5. When I want to clear the 5 acres I was unable to get labourer so I arrange 10 boys from the city and I was paying them 2500 per day and they work for 6 days. After that tractor plough the land for 40k per acre, so I have planted maize remaining cassava next month on that same land. So at the edge of the farm their is a free land with small trees like half acre, so I decided to clear and plant yam so I call the labourer in the nearby village to help clear the land and make ridges and they call me this morning to tell me 80k for clearing and 140k for the ridges. I told them to leave it, I don't have money to do it. You grab now. 2 Likes |

Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by OVA200(m): 1:57pm On May 19 |
Itsrm:Honestly I think about it when the bill keep coming up. If you want to spray an acre of land with herbicide it's 3k. 5 acres is 15k and two people will finish it in a day if there is water. 7500 per day. That yam ridges they do it #100 or #120 depend on the size, I was like I can make 100 of it in a day that's 10k. If you want to plant maize it's 5k per acre what one person will do in a day. Those Togo labourer that often come here to work will collect Bajaj bike of 1.1 million after a farming season. Money dey farm for labourer now o but your body go tell you sha. 1 Like |
