About forty years ago General Yakubu Gowon famously said something about about Nigeria's problem not being money, 'but how to spend it'. Nigeria made so much money from oil then and look at the situation of the country.

When Dubai made so much money from oil , the ruler of Dubai, Rashid Al Maktoum gave an instruction "build the highest tower in the world".

I just watched a documentary on how the Burj Khalifa, the world's tallest building was built.

See the difference between two leaders?

You don't even live in the East to start with, so u may not really know the condition down here

None of the 5 SE states has turned Dubai yet u wanna recreate such on a grand scale

This thread isn't even about Igbos...you guys should get a life

Keep quiet stop exonerating your tribe, all has failed. Are Igbos not in government? are they not among the looters. Instead of you to blame the SYSTEM (lack of strong institutions). Can this looters go abroad and do same without been caught. But when they get there they obey the system and patiently work through it.

grow up and see that Nigeria problem is not about tribe.

In summary, the politics of hating Igbos and excluding them from things that will develop the country will not do the country any good.
Political leaders and especially the s£nseless followers are the major factors limiting the growth of Nigeria.
How can a product from quota system produce a progressive idea?
How possible is it? Instead of allowing others who are capable to do it, they rather swear that such people wouldn't get leadership positions.
Those youths championing such statements will eventually grow to become political leaders. And then people start wondering why things are not moving forward.

If Nigeria's is not about tribe why has some people vowed with their lives that an Igbo man will never be president. As far as I am concerned Hausas and Yorubas are the reason Nigeria is where it is today. You are ones that have presiding over the affairs of the nation

No need to tell you. I believe to you, Yahaya Bello is the best. An adult suppose to know the best option available.
It's only in this part of the world that someone who doesn't add value to the economy will have the guts to exclude others from development.
And also, voting incapable individuals just spite certain region.

YOU CANNOT COMPARE NIGERIA WITH UAE.

The UAE has LARGER oil reserves than Nigeria, and has a population of just 9 million people.

Gowon built infrastructure like the national highway network we have today.

He built universities and teaching hospitals for the teeming population.

He could have easily used the money to build the world’s tallest skyscraper, but that would have been a waste of resources for which he would have been crucified by the public.

The UAE has more oil and gas than Nigeria, and with just 6 million people, can afford to build 1,000 skyscrapers and still have enough for their ‘oil sheiks’ to loot and deposit in Swiss banks, buy mansions in Beverly Hills and Billionaires Row in European cities as the ordinary citizens are given a reasonably comfortable life.

So UAE have nothing to do with Nigeria.

Their circumstances are completely different.

Leave them alone, face your own unique country and situation, and stop feeling inferior to other nations and people.

I think you really have a point here the whole blame is supposed to go to the the yorubas and the hausafulanis they are the ones who have ruled nigeria longer than any other ethnic group igbos doesn't deserves to be added cause everyone already knows how the yorubas and the fulanis have ganged up to systemically exclude the igbos from rising to power it's an open secret that no sane observer of nigerian politics will ever deny.

Why should blame go to Yorubas?
