Jodera: Ah, thank God for my mistake be that - you have even used it to buttress my point further The point here is that the Gulf in class is too wide - there is no basis for comparison at all.... The 2012/2013 team was the weakest Fergie's teams of his final 6-7years at the club : that side relied solely on RVP's magical form. Till today, it's no secret that Fergie was even praised for winning the league with such a poor team. Some pundits even attributed Moyes' failure at UTD to his decision to "inherit" such a weak side without adequate reinforcements. 2 Likes |

AdisaOwala:To be honest, an 89 point team can't just be suddenly weak like that. It relies on Van Persie, yes but it was more than that. What it just shows is that Moyes is an inept coach that can't handle a top team which makes it looks that the players were that baaaad! It's akin to Chelsea under Lampard. They look like bums and couldn't even make top 4. Tuchel came, use that same team to win Fa cup and Uefa CL while finishing 4th in the league (from a possible 8th when he arrived). Their play was so good that all they felt they needed to compete for league was a striker to complete them (Lukaku says hi) Who knows, maybe that 2013 set lacked a "tuchel" cos an 89-point team can't be that baaaad. Naaaahhhh!!! |

Jodera: How bad or worst the team was, isn't the main issue here TBH The point is that them Welbeck, Evans and co finished with more points than a team that had prime Vidic, Evra, Rooney, Ronaldo, Tevez etc, yet the team with fewer points was light years ahead of the former. This, coupled with other examples is why I feel the "points amassed analogy" is flawed in the context of team/league strength assessment 3 Likes 1 Share |

AdisaOwala:You're the one doing comparisons Tbh. I'm classing them and not comparing 2013 set to 2008 set. You should know that even within a class, senior still dey inside. So in essence, what I'm just telling you that the two sets are very strong sides and their points shows so(89 and 87 respectively) because both sets were winning CONSISTENTLY. E no suppose hard again to get my point 3 Likes |

Jodera: You can't class them oga - they are light years apart. This one no be about seniority Jodera: Both were winning consistently - one was doing it vs strong sides while the other was vs bums : 2nd placed Spurs in 2016/2017 season also amassed similar points to this UTD side in question. |
Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Champions Of Europe 2021 by raumdeuter: 12:35am On May 20 |
AdisaOwala: The Bundesliga record is 41 goals, did Kane break it? Look at record breakers like Haaland whether na debut season or undebut season |

AdisaOwala:1.Lol, when I meant seniority, I didn't even mean the time (like age or sort). I meant of quality 2.Did anyone not fear that Spurs side of 2016/17? Like did any coach or fans (whether at England or abroad) not look that Spurs side as a very strong team that should be taken seriously? Ahhh!!... Na wa ooo |
Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Champions Of Europe 2021 by AdisaOwala: 12:44am On May 20 |
Jodera: If you agree that the quality of the sides (and ofcourse the opposition) no be the same, it's a further testament to the fact that the "points system" metric for League/team strength is flawed Jodera: Which Yeye Fear? I am sure if you check well, na Harry Kane goals been carry the team. Spurs of them Berbatov, Bale, Robbie Keane, Defoe,Pavluychenko, Modric etc was even stronger, yet this your "points system" is telling another story 2 Likes 2 Shares |

Jodera: See the rubbish Jackson, Chelsea paraded as main striker for the season. Someone struggling to start for Senegal, leading the attack of my darling team. Can you compare him to Costa or Drogba? Can you compare Disasi and Badiashile to Terry, Carvalho/Alex? Can you compare Cucurella to Ashley Cole? When you compare players like Nistelrooy, Tevez, Rooney, Ronaldo to the Amadu, Kabiru, Anthony and Fadeyi, playing for United now, then you will have a rethink. Can Maguire talk where Jaap Stam roars? That's why it pains when other fans are supporting mediocrity in our team. Since Costa left, Chelsea haven't got a reliable finisher. Why wouldn't Fraudiola feast with Haaland, KDB, B. Silva, Grealish and co? When we had a prolific striker and solid players, we won the league under Fraudiola's nose. 3 Likes 1 Share |

popizaino:People like Adisa and co only bring up these arguments AFTER the win. Long before the season ended I had told people that no excuses will be adequate. The same goes for you. You cannot give Carlo credit for winning UCLs in the same era you are denigrating in another breath. It does not work that way. If the era is inferior. It should cut across all leagues and competitions. Simple. 3 Likes |

We just need to focus on getting an established striker next season. Unfortunately there are not many of them in the world right now. . There is no point spending in other departments. Most of the players that were out due to injury this season are like new signings. E.G fofana, lavia, nkunku. Just get me a striker and we are good to go. 4 Likes |

Ferguson and United just enjoyed life low-key, winning EPL with as low as 71 points 😂😂. Ferguson no de to top four in this Ferguson era. It's 100 points or nothing 8 Likes 1 Share |
