A point in time in my life before I went the Lithium way. I felt like a king with these Monbat batteries o. My first set of good rated batteries bought brand new .They served well and were graciously retired.

i dont have honest review of consumption now since have disabled my monitoring meter long ago. All i know now is i can use my AC with all other average load of 300w till daybreak with my 12.5kwh lithuim pack.

That's interesting. It's pretty energy efficient.

I've seen this Monbat at work, it's a great battery. The location I saw it it was on its 5th year of service. Though proper load management was done by the user. It's one of the best lead acid battery; better than most LA battery on sale today.

Hello everyone.

Please I was given this quotation for a 3.5kva set up.
I want to know if these are the appropriate equipments for the setup.

2 x 220 ah tashatubularbattery
4 x 400 watts tashaenergy panel
1 x 60 amps tashaenergy solarchargecontroller
6mm solardc cablepermetre
Battery rack
Trunking pipe, aluminum rails, nails and accessories
SPDs, breakers, changeover switch and AC cables
1 x 3.5 kva Viltransformerbased inverter

Are the solar panels enough to fully charge the batteries in a day?
Is a 3.5kva inverter okay for 2 220ah batteries abi it's too much?
Would it be better to use a hybrid inverter?
What would you add and what would you remove please

Thank you very much.
How many hours of use can I get from the 100ah lfp battery, if fully charged and on a, let's say, 600-800w load

25.6*100aH = 2.56kwh

80% DoD = 2.048kwh

600w = 3h24m of usage.

600w seems very well on the high side for night-time power consumption, though.

Lighting killed my inverter and Felicity controller last night, am so pained

Most times it is board replacement which you may hardly get. Get a smaller inverter.

Fixing is not advicable!!!

UPDATE
Still haven’t gotten a valuable response from the Jos guy. Since I dropped off the battery at vgc, I’m still waiting for him to let me know what needs to be fixed. I called him yesterday morning, he said I should allow him call the guy I dropped off the battery with and he would call me back but he is yet to call back since yesterday morning. I even messaged him in the evening as well but no response as usual.
FINAL UPDATE
At long last, I got my battery back yesterday evening. The bms had to be changed and now the battery is currently working as it should. I just hope the issue doesn’t arise again.

Chai, you initially plan to use a 600w load on Tasha.
~3 hours to 4 hours, you can use up to 90% DOD on LFP.

Please where can I get this?

I want to connect 8 550W panels to a 5kw hybrid

Also if anyone can do a neat installation in Port Harcourt would appreciate.

jonescosmos:

10mm PV Cables for such a small unit? Honestly? Why do this?. You will loos energy bro.
The most practical wire for solar panels is PV1-F 750V-1000V Anti-Stretch Shielded Outdoor solar cable, this cable is most common in 4mm2 and 6mm2. A very rough rule of thumb is for arrays of less than 20A can use 4mm2, and 20A or larger should use 6mm2. If a larger size is required, it is recommended to run twice from the array to the solar controller.

wow, since then?...did you pay for the bms replacement yourself?. why did it take this long?

~3 hours to 4 hours, you can use up to 90% DOD on LFP.
It's always good and advisable to have a moderate profile which keep Lfp within the working voltage ranges without stressing any cells.
Discharging below the knees of 3.0v for each cell is not really advisable.

Since then ooo. He said the available bms with him is bigger than the one in my battery so he suggested we split the money for the new bms into two and I paid half while he covered the other half.
Money I’ve spent fueling my gen through out that waiting period is even more than the payment I made for the new bms.
