I am 100% certain that the Minister will fix the power sector. PBAT just have to put his foot down in dealing with the cabal in the sector. They all know themselves.

Abuja Disco linesmen collect huge sums of money from electricity consumers to reconnect their disrupted electricity supply. Big shame. All because they see supply of electricity as favour to consumers.

SoNature:
Adebayo Adelabu could be the best power minister this country has had since the inglorious exit of Professor Barth Nnaji. Tunde Fashola was a big disaster of unparalleled proportions. BTW, Mr Adelabu should encourage more state governors and private investors to get involved and invest in the three arms of the industry. That's how a country grows.

Years ago, I remember one Chinese government official saying that why the United States is ahead of China in space technology is that both the US government and private companies are investing in the industry. That's the way it should be. Development shouldn't be left to the government alone.
best power minister for doing what exactly?

See why technocrats in their authority should be appointed.

It has not collapsed because you guys have increased tarrif. We all know that the collapsed grids used to be faked in other for you to feed our energy quota to other countries that Nigeria supply electricity. So, stop pretending as if there has been an actual collapsed grid.

Lol... thanks for this

I think 6,000MW by August is feasible and he should be pushing for 10000 MW by December.

We currently at installed capacity of 14,0000. We have about 19 plants actively supplying power to the grid. These active plants sometimes do 50 % below capacity. Egbin plant hovers around 700MW currently but has an installed capacity of 1, 300 MW.

Omotosho plant has an installed capacity of about 340 MW but currently supplies 80-100 to the grid.
If the issue of debt and gas have been resolved with Gencos, then minister should push them to produce more.
Also, TCN on their website proudly say they can evacuate 70000 MW, so 6000 MW by August is not pipe’s dream.

P.S Minister few weeks ago said Zengeru hydro now supplies to the grid. According to TCN on its website, that’s not accurate.

Just because we are in the raining season and they now feel they're doing a good job, the non collapse of the grid has nothing to do with their efforts, it's seasonal and things will regress as we exit the raining season. During raining season a lot of reasons interplay to shore up power supply and chiefly among them are low demand for power as most homes don't put on a/c & fans and rise in water level that boost the hydro power stations generation. It has always been like this for years and so governments have always been taking advantage of this seasonal succour to claim they've been up and doing in power generation but dry season always prove them to be just hiding under the favourable condition of the wet season

Should this come out of the mouth of a sane adult; talk more from a minister of a country?
Is grid collapse a normal occurence in normal climes?
Boss looking at those comments above congratulating the minister made me felt really ashamed. Omor we deserve the kind of leaders we have.
