Anti-Semitism in Australia: Graffiti calling for the killing of Jews has been sprayed on the outer fence of the Mount Scopus Jewish School in Melbourne, the largest and oldest educational institution in the state of Victoria. "The murder threat has left our community devastated and shocked," said the president of the Jewish Community Council of Victoria, Philip Ziak. "We cannot allow this behavior to continue. We have been warning the government, the police and other leaders for months that we are approaching a dangerous place where hatred of Jews will become normal. This graffiti is nothing but a murderous threat against children in Victoria based on their faith and culture." Victoria state MP David Southwick added that the graffiti represented the "ugly face of Victoria". "Jews are becoming a target and our leaders are doing nothing," he defied. "These haters don't hate Israel, they hate Jews. Enough talk, we need action."

I love this photo of the founding of Tel Aviv.
