holyboss: When you submit your GV application, it's a tick box exercise........ Once the passport validity is got a red tick, GV application would simply not proceed....... I used to know someone at NHC, but I think he got redeployed back to the trenches........😁 Would ask around if anyone knows anyone...... |

missjekyll: Oh dear! Hopefully Labour would find the money to 'invest' (their new cliché) in the NHS.. Kudos on your campaign endeavours. I would make my mind up with time. Have other things to stress about now. It's clear Labour would likely have the day. I'd be keen to see how they'd meet peoples expectations. I'd be particularly interested after the first two years as their initial get out of jail card (like PMB) would be '14 years of Tory failure' 3 Likes |

jedisco: The NHS will always be a bone in the throat of any government. Currently, £1 of every £10 is spend on the nhs, far more than any sector. The nhs probable worked well when the country had a young population and a fast growing economy. The population is aging, as a developed country it is unlikely to grow at a very fast pace, cost of medicare has gone up....something has to give. Either make more services privatized or strip other sectors of funds to prop up the nhs 2 Likes |

holyboss:Hi. Since you are in the UK, you can apply with an expired passport. Just increase the validity year of your passport. In additional docs, include a letter to explain what you have done. You may also include proof of application for renewal as a back up. I know ppl who have done this with no issues. 1 Like 1 Share |

holyboss: I personally know a few people (about 3) who applied for visas ( not PSW) with expired passports. They got the visas. On one occasion, the system refused to accept Dec 2023 as date of expiration . She entered Dec 2024 just to pass that stage on the application. Then, she wrote an explainer, detailing how she has booked for passport renewal and how the nigeria passport biometric queue is long. She received her visa. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Hi all, please anyone know if it’s possible for someone on a visitors visa can switch to a dependent visa. So scenario being: - the person had a 2yr UK visitor visa, - got married in Nigeria to a Nigerian with skilled worker visa, then travelled to UK on their own with visitors visa. But rather than return to Nigeria and apply for dependent visa, they’ll like to switch while in the Uk. I’ve google and I’m seeing conflicting results. Clarity needed. Thanks |

Jamesclooney: switching should be possible but I think you have to apply from outside the country 1 Like |

@Zahra Applied for skilled worker some months ago, this is what was stated which I fully understand (“ You are also allowed to take supplementary employment, namely work outside your normal working hours for your sponsor of up to 20 hours per week with another employer. This must be either in a job on the Shortage Occupation List, or in the same occupation code as the job described in your certificate of sponsorship.”) I applied for another one last week and it stated that “You are also allowed to take supplementary employment, namely work outside your normal working hours for your sponsor of up to 20 hours per week with another employer. This must be a job listed in the Standard Occupational Classification system (tables 1-3) in the Immigration Rules.” I don’t really understand this and can find the table1-3 they are referring to. Make this people no go tell me say I will not be eligible to carry out my time job again, this is not funny. Please advise, suggestions and input from all other members are welcome |

Schoolhike: It's not really clear what you're asking in the bolded but here's an explanation of the change: Your first visa was before April 4. Before that date, you could only take on an additional job (for maximum of 20 hours) if the job was in the same occupation code as the one you were sponsored for or in the shortage occupation list. Since April 4, you can now work an additional job (for maximum of 20 hours) if the job eligible for skilled worker sponsorship. You do not need to be sponsored for that additional job as long as you do not work more than 20 hours per week but the point is that it has to be a role that could have been eligible for sponsorship, so you can't take on roles like delivery driver or cleaner, for example. The list of eligible jobs are here under Table 1, 2 and 3 - https://www.gov.uk/guidance/immigration-rules/immigration-rules-appendix-skilled-occupations You may also find this explainer article useful: https://shepwedd.com/knowledge/major-changes-skilled-worker-visa-route As an aside, it's interesting how this very important liberalisation of the skilled worker route didn't get that much publicity. It appears the government's strategy is to reduce the number of people coming in but make it easier for people already in to do more work if they wish, thereby potentially filling some of the open roles and generating more income for themselves and, very crucially, the government lol. |

So after many years of being on this thread, NO ONE! Not a single person, knows Justwise personally and can come and tell us if he’s okay? We should be ashamed of ourselves I find myself randomly hoping he’s okay. He’s never disappeared this long before. 4 Likes 1 Share |
