"Colonialism" is the scapegoat Africans especially Nigerians used to hide their inadequacies to build and develop their continent and nation

Mighty China was under colonial rule by the imperial Japanese empire

Singapore a landlocked nation colonised by the British without even 2% of Nigeria resources under prime minister
Lee Kuan Yew was transformed from 3rd world Nation to 1st world Nation

South Korea also colonised by the imperial Japanese empire, have also made giant stride

In fact historians will tell you that there is only 7 countries that have never been colonised, 1 in Africa: Ethiopia, and 6 in Asia: Japan, Bhutan, Nepal, Iran, China, Thailand

Yet we are in the 21st century people are still shouting colonialism when other nations have moved on and started developing their Nations. 50 year's from now some Nigerians will still blame the British for their woes

Even though I do not like to solemnly blame the underdevelopement of Africa on colonialism, it would be incredibly wrong to also omit the effects of colonialism on Africa's failure to compete with the rest of the world in terms of development.

Did you say Japan colonised China? How?

For Africa to truly develop, we need to first dismantle all the structures left by our colonizers. Our borders, form of government, mode of economy, education e.t.c all these haven't work and will not work because they were never designed to work.

I said colonial rule, I didn't say they were colonised by Japan
I listed China as one of the country not colonised

⚡Russian President Vladimir Putin announced Monday that Moscow would sharply increase gas deliveries to Uzbekistan during a visit to the landlocked former Soviet republic.

Putin has met several times with his Central Asian counterpart since Moscow’s invasion of Ukraine, as Europe, Turkey and China are also vying for influence in a region Moscow considers in its sphere of influence.

Russia, a major fossil fuel producer, has important energy projects with neighbours in the region as they face energy shortfalls despite having their own gas and oil resources.

During a meeting with Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev in Tashkent, Putin said “work is under way” to increase gas volumes to Uzbekistan to 11 billion cubic metres next year.

Launched in 2023, Russia gas deliveries transiting via a pipeline that crosses Kazakhstan, which came online during the Soviet era, are due to reach 3.8 billion cubic metres this year.

Talk materiality not caveman analysis

This is what drives dollar demand, trillions of our pensions and savings being held by BlackRock and co, not few billions held by countries, not to mention the money held by individuals and companies who are transacting in dollar daily

That's before we even get to other asset managers, 2 of whom individually hold more than all countries combined.

90% of BlackRock holdings are in America or Europe or friendly nations

That's the materiality aspect, not to mention the fact that nobody in the world will hold their assets in Yuan, when Chinese themselves don't use Yuan but renmibi which is only for internal Chinese to use..

Two conditions always apply to the dominant currency of the world. It must be freely traded and the issuer must be the dominant naval power in the world. That has always applied whether it was the Roman Denarius, the Spanish Real, the British Pound or the American dollar and that's not changing anytime soon.

You also think countries like India will take leadership from the Chinese who are their geopolitical enemies and constantly pressuring them with Pakistan and the likes. Don't let BRICS fool you, nobody trusts their future to the autocratic Chinese whose Government have few humanist values.

You keep missing the point because you're living in self-denial.

Companies no matter what they represent in monetary value are just companies subject to financial rules and financial trends imposed and driven by state actors. Stop wallowing in your make-believe world. If the dollar's gradually declining use accelerate to a significant level, it's companies like BlackRock that would first start turning the tides away from it and towards the new trend to ensure their own safety. BlackRock isn't a brainwashed religious extremist-like company wired to die with a crumbling fiat paper. grin

The current geopolitical landscape is one driven by a desire to embrace multipolarism as against western hegemonistic powerplay. Indian and China has their beef long before they decided to join forces with other states to form BRICS. And that's where folks like you are missing it. No one is nor would be taking orders from anyone...Everything is done on the basis of equality, with mutual respect for each and everyone involved. In BRICS and in the new world order it has brought, there are no second class nations or subordinate states. No one cares whether you're practicing plutocracy, autocracy, stupidcracy, or demoncrazy (as in the so-called west)...just a group of nations coming together to achieve a common goal....economic fairness, parity, and freedom from years of diabolic western economic and political diktats, sabotage and unfair praftices.Who could ever have thought there would come a time when Saudi Arabia would dare sell oil to a major buyer in a currency other than the dollar? Well, it happened, and that is history now. Thanks to multipolarism, the new sheriff in town. cool

Maybe you should pay attention to your own links.

Your link states that your so-called deputy supreme leader was in office until 13 March 1989. Your link also states that the current Supreme leader, Ali Khamenei, was appointed after the death of the previous Supreme leader in June 1989.

June comes three months after March, unless you have your own special calendar where June comes before March.

So, obedience4, how is it possible for the current Supreme leader to dissolve an office that stopped existing three months earlier, in order to "make his position safe" as you claimed?

Do you see that you are not okay? You just looked for a link online and posted it without even reading what you posted. Yet, you call yourself an expert in Iran affairs, but don't even know that Iran no longer has a deputy Supreme leader, or that the dates of your claims don't match.

As usual, I expect you to begin twisting things to suit your narrative.

I swear you would make a good detective. cool

I don't even blame US anymore, I blame these idiot countries that keep allowing US to use them. How can countries have disagreements, and then suddenly start shipping weapons to the country? Does everything have to end in war? What happened to diplomacy, like China is practicing in the Middle East?

Love your disposition on the subject matter,
I didn't say we should forget about "colonialism" and also support that most people don't know the exploitation Africa endure during the hay days of colonial rule.
And rightly should be enlighten on the things that happened in the past

I have no objections about our self-destructive policies and our bad leadership choices. Government is supposed to be a continuum, all these developed countries you mentioned all have one thing in common, they have a roadmap of where they wanna be in the next century regardless of who becomes the leader. We (Nigeria) on the other hand are on autopilot, no clear cut blueprint or roadmap.

Thanks for being factual, you made some great contributions, I hope someday we get it right as a country.

But my issue is why after so many year's why will Africans especially Nigerians still putting the blame on colonialism,
For the underdevelopment, poverty, crisis on colonialism. No Africa country apart from south Sudan that isn't over 50 years as a independent sovereign state

The Jewish state endured the holocaust, has that stop isreal from developing into one of the most technological country in the middle East. has the second-largest number of startup companies in the world after the United States and the third-largest number of NASDAQ-listed companies after the U.S. and China

In conclusion do you know that Isreal even with the holocaust history, that after China, the USA, Germany is isreal biggest trading partner, so even though Isreal remember it's holocaust history, did that stop it from moving on and even having the same Germany as it's largest trading partner in Europe

Cheers

Rubbish from Putins desk. The world is already multipolar. USSR had their sphere of influence and already failed. Multipolarism is what Hitler and Japanese emperor tried. Nobody likes chaos.

You can sell whatever in whatever currency you like, but guess what, you will still benchmark to the dollar and only sell in currencies that have the ability to maintain parity to the dollar, which China does. Thereby achieving the same effect

80% of the countries in this world are unable to guarantee stability to the dollar, nobody will sell oil to you in Naira, Rubles or Turkish lira knowing it could lose value tomorrow

China is a parasite of the USA, that's why they keep touting their Mutually Assured Economic destruction mantra. If USA goes down, China goes down. Their whole economy is dependent on USA and the West. Below are Chinas volume of export by country, by materiality China serves as the workhouse of the West, who can switch production elsewhere if China decide to commit financial suicide. Capital dictates outcomes. He who pays the piper dictates the tune.

⚡The Russia-NATO war is a perfect case study for why some things should not be privatized.

1. Western military contractors engage in price gouging, thanks to the (legal) bribes to gov officials.

Thus, everything costs 5-10 times more in US/EU.

2. American/European contractors don’t even manufacture many weapons and ammunition that have low profit margin.

It’s like why GM and Ford don’t make nice $12,000 electric cars like the Chinese.

In Russia, the government sits above the corporations, whose #1 priority is not rich shareholders but the nation.

So, Putin tells them to master the entire supply chain, and they do it. It’s very similar to how China works.

The free market model has huge disadvantages in certain or many sectors of the economy.
