Each time you talk on those stuff, you lose me at the point where you mention "flashing with Tasmota" and the "node red" thingy. 😁. I just log off at that point, because it requires some programming which sincerely I can't say I wanna even dabble into. My hands are full already and I fear that once I start dabbling into the realm of programming of any kind, I may be disappointed in myself if i dont catch up fast or if i give up along the way cos of the same problem dat precludes my foray into it - TIME.

It is a lot easier to do than you think. Once you get the hang of it, which is very easy to do, it becomes a part of you. And the reward is sweet. I don't buy any smart thing if I can not "flash it" and put it completely under my control. I have Sonoff, Victron, Axpert, Wemo, Emporia, ANT BMS, JK-BMS, JBD BMS, Felicity, Easun products, etc and I talk to them locally without using the manufacturers' apps or internet connection.

Hey my brother, it took less than an hour or so for the system to shut down after installation. I suspect the 3.5kva inverter for that. The owner and installer beging look at each other.

I have prepared the the owner Sha, so he just called to inform me of the outcome.
I didn't press further to ask which action he took.

Please how did these guys integrate this Growatt inverter with Google home assistant... She basically uses voice command to ask the inverter to switch from grid to solar only, or from aggressive power consumption to power saving mode.

For those intending to store inverter for long period(1yr and above), power on the inverter every few months(3 months) to ensure components stay in good working condition.

This helps prevent capacitor degradation and keeps the battery charged(if still connected to battery).

Dust, Heat, Extreme Cold & Hot Weather can affect the lifespan of internal components.

Not sure about that, we need to asked those who stored theirs inside cartoons for like 2yrs if it develops fault before usage.

Those who complained above should help us with this information.

Is anybody vendor with Kartel/Smarten Inverter for sale here?

and can also ship to Ibadan
Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by gadgetplanetng: 9:03am On May 28
Things in Carton would usually have that Sillica gel that would deal with the humidity
Also dust shouldn't get in but I haven't stored anything that long.

The last time I checked, you were still trying to get the communication aspect done on your Felicity inverter.
Were you able to do it at last? I want to even replace my 5kw Felicity inverter and get another product with an easy/flexible communication protocol.
I'll appreciate if you can contact me through my phone number here.

Seriously, how do you achieve this with JK and JBD BMS for example. I am sure I will need this for starters. Maybe you can also show how to achieve this with Axpert inverters.

This will be very very useful

Do you think this your AC can be hooked into Home Assistant or controlled with node red?

@Adrusa and other automation experts, are there ACs that one can regulate the temperatures based on the state of charge of the batteries? So that as the sun is going down, we can start increasing the AC temperature and reduce the cycling time.

Xanderone:
Update on the AC:

So I toyed around with some of the functions few hours ago.

° Immediately after turning it on, I started by running it in Jet mode to rapidly cool down the room. Consumption ramped up to the usual 1070w -ish. The room cooled down from 30deg to 27deg in about 30 minutes after which the Jet mode then automatically (as is indicated in the manual) changed from Jet mode to regular mode. The indicator on the remote control also indicated the change.

° At that point, the consumption had dropped to 940w and another one hour it dropped further to 840 watts. At this point I pressed the "Gen mode" button repeatedly but expectedly no obvious response or change in consumption.

° Next, I fondled with the "mode" button and to select the "Automatic mode" on the remote. Then following the manual instructions on the use of the mode function (picture attached), I selected "number 2" (keep room cold), and the internal fan ramped down its speed but the vanes kept moving and I also noticed that the external unit fan also stopped and the consumption dropped to 15w. It remained at 15w for about 30 minutes after which I drove out somewhere and left it on but monitoring the consumption on the phone. Apparently it was recirculating the already cold air that is in the room.

° Another one hour and I noticed that the consumption had ramped up to 271w and stayed there. Since I wasn't at home, I couldn't tell what was going on. I came home after 2 hours and noticed that the external unit had kicked in, and was probably responsible for that ramp up to 271w from the initial 15w. The room temperature remained at between 26deg to 27deg. It's four hours after and the consumption had further dipped to 267w

It seems there is something "energy saving" about this unit after all. Although I assume temperatures still get to as low as 18 deg with these ACs, the 26 degrees notwithstanding is adequate for a lone me in the room.

I guess cos of that "automatic mode", if it again senses ambient temperature rise due to presence of increased number of people in the room, it will likely ramp up the consumption further to do the job to maintain the expected cooling temperature.

NB: Pardon the long story. I just felt being detailed enough helps to inform readers, and maybe prospective users, better on these things.

Greetings all. Some weeks ago lightning destroyed my 3.5kva inverter and having waited for 1 week to get it repaired , the repairer said the board is bad and it will cost around 140,000 to 160,000 to get a new board and it will also take time as they will have to order it from lagos meanwhile i am in abuja.

So i decided to get a secondhand 4kva inverter.

It was installed 4days ago but my issue now is that with my formal inverter with nepa light the battery will be fully charged in less than 24hours BUT this one that is just installed have being on nepa light for 3days and not full charged

Please what could be the problem?

Kindly note that the formal inverter normally charge like phone charging .i.e it add bars continuously until fully charging but this one have being charging from buttom for days now

Is the inverter bad?

Is the connection wrong?

Is this bow some inverter charge?

Please help out

Thanks

Please i still need help on this issue

LFP Batteries made all these possible, batteries were the weak point in the RE industry but now, the story has changed, I remember we were changing our Trojan AGM every 6 months or so, and now LFP has been taken over.

no specs, no pictures of old and replacement inverter, no details about battery type/capacity... how can anyone know what to tell you naah??.
mek we dey try reason things comprehensively naah..

the 2nd hand inverter u got is the problem, since ur old inverter charged ok. either it has a charging problem or the charging current is very low, these are issues beyond your paygrade to shoot, so best you get your installer to help you check...or you roll up ur sleeve and skill up. watch youtube videos, google...n understand the basics first.

A short review: A low budget value for money. Need an MPPT CC with the most basic Interface but keeps working? Then get this!! PowMrI have 3 of them in use. Works well , relatively cheap and can work for 12,24,36 or 48v systems. Works with Lithium batteries and
lead acids variants. Excellent as a back up CC too in case you need one to fall back on. Planning on getting another one soon.
Cons? Plenty grin!
1) No log Interface to record daily harvests , so difficult to know exactly how much you are harvesting daily. I have to rely on other ways to get this.
2) Connect points are a bit small and take max of 6mm cables
3) the supplied screws to attach the CC to the wall sometimes are too small
4) Price is getting high nowadays cry
Update on this review:
I recently installed 2 more of this CC : one for my use and one for a friend. Both CCs behaved different from previous installs.
1) They get much hotter than the older make. I suspect the fan speed. The new ones have fans that are very silent but not as efficient as older variants. Temps of the new ones got as high as 65°C despite the fan being on!
2) The temperature sensor gauges differently on the old and new variants ans could be off by almost 5-10 degree
3) On a good note, harvest seems better than the old variants
How do you know which one you got? The OLD variants had a light that constantly blinks in the fan recess in front.

Wahala dey o.

What now happens to those that stock then in warehouses for sale?

Perhaps the problem occurs once it has been opened, used for a while and then taken back to storage. It may not happen if it is still tightly protected in it's original packages.

mctfopt:

This is very true. My 8 x 18650 charger/analyser that I bought and never used have failed to work.

My Reolink 5MP camera I bought and kept for like 2 years (forgot I had it sad ) has gone bad too.

Same thing happened to my heart rate monitor I bought and never used. Remembered the other day I was doubting the rate my watch gave after an exercise smiley The thing no longer works.

All these devices no longer works after about 3 years of it been left in their pack

Can anyone explain why this happens?

These days I'm now using every electronic I have. Don't want to be caught lacking again smiley
