Xavi was here for 2.5 years. In that period, Barca spent over €250m on transfers excluding quality free agents/loanees like Kessie, Cancello, Felix, Christensen, Gundogan and of course Inigo Martinez.

Laporta handled his departure and that of Messi in the worst possible way but he's done well to create a competitive squad for him. Xavi needed to leave no question about that and yes, he was very well supported.

Issue with Xavi's Barca is we did not have a competent DM, converted or not. Christensen was later deployed to the position and we begun to see some stability in that department but it was too little too late.
