sod09: The government is just not sincere in most of the actions they take . You don’t need to be a structural engineer to know that most of the buildings in that Isale Eko lack structural integrity . If u go to some of those areas now , u will see old 3-4 stores buildings that are not in good shape but being inhabited . You will even see some buildings being renovated/upgraded . For reasons best known to the government they don’t pull down these buildings . At least I frequented that axis for close to 8 years and not one day did I hear that government came to demolish buildings because of structural integrity . I read the news on front page and I noticed the commissioner for information while confirming the collapse claimed the building had been marked for demolition as not being inhabitable . And that’s the only thing they do, they don’t actually demolish buildings in that axis even when buildings in that axis need the most demolition . It is when incidents like this happen that government will decide to be proactive all of a sudden |

BlueRayDick:That's what I said earlier those buildings are old and even those living there are like 4-5th generation The government marking those buildings for demolition will cause wahala because some of these guys are also in government It's like saying you want the government to demolish shrine in ikeja because of the activities going on there Unless the government and the people reach a compromise it will be happening This one people are trapped in this building, hardly have I read news of getting survivors from trapped buildings and it's raining now |

izzou: I’m also always of this opinion but when u say these things , people who have made it a duty to defend government will say the government does not owe u any warning . They say u are the one that must make it a point of duty to do thorough due diligence . I also know people rushing to that Epe axis are the next set of people to cry in the future . I watched a video recently and the creator of the video being a surveyor was saying most of the lands in Epe are designated for agriculture . He said in the future when the govt is ready most of those residential properties developed on the land will be pulled down. He said govt according to original plan expects u to farm on those lands . ![]() |

Itsrm: This muddles it up even more. If FHC is the same, with the same power to adjudicate over the matter, why are we filing and hearing the same case in 2 different states with what would most likely be 2 different judgements over the same matter? The Supreme Court will ultimately decide this, it looks but it is such a mess to have it this way. At this point we have rendered our State courts useless. |
