Yes, there is no state or federal that bars a convicted felon from running for president

But that makes no sense tbh.

Yeah I just read that

But felons are not allowed to vote but can be voted for?

Felons are not allowed to vote but they can stand for election? What kind of law is that? Or did the writers of the constitution not envision a situation like this?

Or even rule from jail

That will be funny. I am not sure how much this affects voters opinion of him

This was why I wanted DeSantis

Yup. This does nothing to his base as they are secure as always. I also think the Republican Party have shown they have no choice but to ride with him. I mean Nikki even said she would rather vote Trump.

It’s those undecided moderate voters that would once again decide this election, especially those in battle ground states. Biden and Democratic Party are at their weakest but this is a good point to weaponize against Trump when campaigns start.

The Jury have reached a verdict, Na wait we dey wait now.

The verdict was unanimous. The sentencing will most likely involve jail time.

The requirements to be President are pretty much basic.

Be 35 years and a US citizen who has resided in the country for 14 years.

That's the most important tidbit.

That's why Merchan set the sentencing for four days before the convention.

They'll use the polls to calibrate what they throw at him.

Exactly. Some of these laws really do not make common sense.
Thats why I’m an advocate of restoring the voting rights of convicted felons immediately after serving time in prison.

Felons can vote in Florida.
Non-incarcerated felons can even vote in NY.

I think it is state by state. Some states have limited participation post completion of term others don’t. I know Texas allows felons after serving but there are exceptions that must be met.

I support you on this, If you've served time and paid your fine, then your right should be restored to vote

True.
In Florida, Trump would not be able to vote for himself because Florida relies on the law of the state where the conviction occurred in deciding whether to allow a convicted felon to vote. In NY, felons can’t vote unless they’ve been acquitted by an appeals court, or have served their prison term, or are not incarcerated

Can Trump still vote?

It depends. Each state makes its own rules. Trump is now a Florida resident – and Florida voters, in 2018, overwhelmingly backed a referendum to reenfranchise convicted felons.

In an interview with CNN, Neil Volz, deputy director of the Florida Rights Restoration Coalition, an organization that works to help reenfranchise formerly incarcerated people, predicted Trump will have little problem voting since Florida actually defers to the jurisdiction of a felony conviction as to whether a felon can vote. In New York, after a law passed in 2021, any convicted felon who is not incarcerated is eligible to register to vote.

Even if the judge ultimately tried to give Trump prison time, it is highly unlikely that Trump’s right to appeal his conviction would be exhausted before Election Day. If, somehow, Trump was convicted in one of the two federal criminal cases against him before Election Day, that might be another story.

Let us see how it goes

If there is no law expressly disqualifying Trump, then he will get the GOP nomination and we will see the impact of this indictment on the moderate unaligned voters

I would have preferred if this process was done like a year earlier so that Trump wouldnt even be the nominee

The primary condition to release the hostages is public knowledge.
Complete withdrawal from Gaza and permanent cessation of hostilities.
That is by no means outrageous.

To prevent a future attack, Israel must accept the Two State Solution and stop actively preventing the creation of an independent Palestinian state.

This is not rocket science. But because Israel is led by a cross-section of lunatics who have publicly professed working towards complete annexation of every square inch of Palestine, they'd push these outlandish narratives that conveniently sidesteps the all-important birth of the State of Palestine.

We cannot keep kicking this can down the road.

-Lord
we all know two-state solution will stop not Palestinians from attacking Israel. I know you must have heard the phrase "from the river to the sea". Palestinians never wanted the two-state solution and have rejected it on several occasions. Also hamas has un-alived most of the hostages. All is fair in love and war, you cant invade israel, kill over 1000 civilians, take hostages and not expect them to pay you back in kind. Also hamas has also launched several missiles into israel which would have done the same damage if not for the iron dome defense system. Palestinians are playing victim because they are losing the war

I recommend you update your knowledge on the Two State Solution.
You're relying on 30-year+ old postulations to form arguments today.

Come back when you've done your homework.

If all was fair in love and war, there would be no such thing as a 'war crime' or 'crime against humanity'.
You need to do a lot of reading, habibi!

Dems have made a critical error. Trump's donation site don crash.

Now they've made him a martyr. You have moderates that also see through this whole sham of a trial.

Biden has mostly been a failure and so this whole trial and the fact that most people feel it's political means the support for Trump is about to explode

Werey, I no even see this post earlier.

If I wanted to drag Obi, I would have mentioned the scammer in my first post about the killing. I only mentioned him when Raumdeuter replied me and made a point that Obi would keep quiet on the issue. True to type, he is yet to condemn the act.

My wife is in the east at present, and feelers from that part is not suiting and should be of great concern to every sensible person.

I don't know why human lives are nothing to animals like Sodiki and you shouldn't join him in the show of shame, as you already live in a saner environment, where human life is sacred.

Everyone have been complaining of hard life and suffering we no see airmark
We talked about national anthem we no see airmark
But because his wife is in the east and he wants us to know about it not like he care about the crisis in that part
A known tribalist that sees nothing wrong in what was done to the Igbo during the election suddenly developed love and affection because his wife is currently there😂😂😂😂
