A draft document for the reintroduction of regional system in Nigeria has been circulating online (see pictures below). Who would you pick to lead your region if the bill is actually introduced and if it is signed into law by October 1st, 2024.

(All lists compiled by Imran Muhammad).

these are the kind of things this government pushes to distract nigerians from the suffering it is inflicting and its failure of governance. most nigerians will fall for the bait and start debating on this for 4years while they loose sight of what is important...accountability and good governance

Tinubu should continue as your regional head. What is bad about that? He remains the best from your South West.

You people should stop making every thread on Nairaland SE Vs SW. This forum wasn't created for these two regions.

I support this move,

It's better than creating states all over the place with overblown recurrent expenditure

But I heard they inserted the presidents term to be 6 years of 2 terms. This will not fly and might kill off everything else in it

Fash all the way or Seyi.

If there will be regional government,, Kwara state, and some parts of Kogi and Edo states should be part of the southwest region

South East is NOI or Peter Obi

Soludo, umiah, ayim stand no chance Morgalu would beat them even
A woman can not lead a region like SE. Peter Obi, Soludo, Umahi, Muoghalu are good but not Anyim. Pius Anyim is a career politician and he is old school.

⚫️ Babatunde Fashola

I will pick Seyi Makinde first and Fashola second but if Tinubu were to be there,I will pick him before anybody.

Middle belt get wahala, too many ethnic groups and differences in religion will be our major challenge, I will prefer if idomas are merged with ibo besides we have a lot in common and we re close neighbors ( personal opinion)

The south-west list is incomplete without Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu

For South-east we should be looking at list that will have the likes of
Peter Obi
Kingsley Moghalu
Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe

thats why your region has nothing to show look at the options...all useless!

Definitely not obi. Moreover, igbo people bow to nobody , back in the days, igbo people don't use to have king or leaders. They lived as barbarians scattered all over SE Nigeria. I wonder how they will survive this regional government. Hmmm

I like how even the greatest of Peter Obi supporters finally acknowledge he is fit only for the regional level of politics.

Or you small minds think Atiku or Osinbajo were left out of these permutations owing to slight or error?

A former Vice President is only fit to become President, while the local champions should stay at their local level until they can rub shoulders with those at the national level.

President Tinubu, na man you be.

I strongly believe hunger may not be dealing with you but pity your family members like siblings, uncles, parents. Be fooling yourself thinking you are dealing with a particular region. All everyone wants is a good Nigeria and not a politics of " it's my brother that is there" and he isn't even doing what is expected of him. I want Tinubu to do well because it will benefit everyone and that is how I will support anyone who has Nigeria and Nigerians at heart.

Wike can never stand a chance...... Looking at the list I just realized regional stuff won't work..... Cuz it will still boil down to tribal division especially in the south south, northern region and central region
