You are 100% correct. I have many friends working as professionals in SA without any issues. It's the Nigerian criminals that are causing problems, and the ones the SA locals also have problems with. The locals have been taking the law into their own hands for a while due to the problems that drugs are doing to their communities.

I was just advising them to be security causious by avoiding the losers & their part of town. Those professionals probably have nothing to worry about except they take unnecessary risk.

They have different degrees of xenophobia & an immigrant might get desensitized to a fault. The immigrant should know those who are resentful/jealous from those that are more likely to act on those emotions.
