But many do not hit the very unique terrain of being a Jehovah's Witness in Nigeria. Some posters remarkably try and do, but there is not enough.
There needs to be something more, so this thread will be that.

When i was in and a very studious & loyal follower, I noticed we were always number 4 or number 5 in Highest amount of publishers worldwide. And this has been so from the 70s 80s, 90s, way before I was active or born. More research just within JW sources shows this.

This is a very serious thread, a sensitive one.

Very few things come close to being raised as Jehovah's Witness, very very few things.
This Religion, being a Nigerian, growing up poor, Living in Lagos?? Very few Humans Can/will remain normal with a combination of all these factors.

This crazy, crazy psychological phenomenon, with Mad mad mad mad People!
I will explore it from the point of view of Growing up in Lagos, with Nigeria connected herein. When I travelled to other African countries, and even to the US at as point.

This is something very complex, far far far out of your Psyche & UNIVERSE. Only former or current witnesses (PImO or fading) can flow along.
This is something very powerful, very deep, very sensitive, and very personal for many of us.
More so In a part of the world where help and resources in something like this is almost impossible to get.
These is serving as many things to many people.
I know some comments will definitely come in, If at all you comment, do so courteously, sensibly in any generic ways if need be.

Psychiatry, Clinical Psychology, Neuroscience etc. will be at every twist and turn as we explore and world navigate these (former) world...

Some of it very tough to share, some lengthy at personal costs. All who have contributed in one way or the other (some here on Nairaland from way back)
Big to small, down to that small YouTube, Reddit or website comment, very obscure out of the web. With little views, but still as helpful.

The moment I realise that religious organization is conflicted or a conflict in the making internally and externally. I know my time right within it walls are up. Some of the members cannot breakdown what I meant is conflicted internally and externally paapaa.

I left the Cult once I realised it is indeed a Cult and A Business masquerading as a Religion. There were a lot of things that never made sense to me as a JW but indoctrination put all of that behind. So, in my case, it was an accumulation of doubts over the years. I also heard about the Child Sexual abuse problems during a Watchtower study and asked myself why a so called One True Religion should be battling with Child sexual abuse when throughout its greater part of its existence, it kept pointing fingers at the Catholic church for the same thing. During the Watchtower study, it was stated that JWS are now free to report a child sexual abuse case to the authorities, meaning, JWS were really told not to report but are now free to do so. This part didn't sit well with me. So, I googled Jehovah's Witnesses and Child sexual abuse and lo and behold, several news stories of CSA were online with many of them reporting that JWs were never allowed to report to the authorities with some of them punished for doing so.

After seeing all that, I gave myself the permission to research this Cult. I told Almighty God that He should show me everything. I told him that I must know everything no matter how shocking or overwhelming it is I can handle it and he did just that. He is still doing so till now. I kept stumbling into so much info even till this moment. I saw testimonies revealing the Occultic side of the Religion. I told myself that if I should see evidence about this aspect of the Cult, I'm done with It and will leave with my mind, body and Soul. I saw lots of evidence. Sometimes the evidence find me. There is a part of Watchtower Bible and Tract Society that is not being discussed online that I stumbled into from an African American JW (not an EXJW) who has Freemason family members. What this JW told me made me realise this Cult is part and parcel of the World System, in fact they are the main world players in the way the world is run.

I left once I saw the Occultic side of JW.

They are not allegations, they know they have child abusers and molesters in their midst. Their own very religious publications have been used to state that as well.
