The Fulani jihad had a devastating overflow effect to the middlebelt and south that plunged the entire todays Nigerian area in constant wars. This weakened the composite ethnic nations and made them easy picking for the British.

Maybe Many today's Nigerian regional tribes would have fought off British colonialist and prevented their entry,we might have never had a Nigeria but many smaller ethnic nations maybe which would have been better off.

Igbo Christianity started only with colonialism, the Fulani jihad and rule of Hausa states,led to the eventual capture of Ilorin and Nupe,which led to the wars targeted at kogi my home region,which attracted the British leading to eventual colonialism and formation of Nigeria
