Saw also your okra farm. Truly, you have done well at your age.

I have a question. Can you leave your farm (sheep and vegetables) and go abroad? Can it function properly without you? I am asking because you are tied to a business if it can only run effectively with you around. Have you ever considered running your farm without your presence? Could you please share your thoughts?

Thank you for this question sir, I believe I can when I have good, well trained hands to take up the task in my absence, but unfortunately there are few and they will even prefer to run there farm rather than manage someone else own.
Farming is a vocation and can be turned to business but for now to maximize profitability and growth you have to be involved 110%.

The bolded part....I kinda thought deeply about it. I think the right phrase should be "Micro-scale/subsistence farming is a vocation that can be developed into a business. Just that I am sad that almost no one I know in southern Nigeria has turned it into a business. Too sad!

One of the reasons I am not interested in ruminant breeding is that it takes a long time. So, one will be tied down.

Nigeria is plunging into a state where there will be massive hunger in the land. Lol. Its not. Not only is there bad government, but there is also bad and dishonest behavior among citizens.

Bro... Good luck with your centre. I pray you achieve your goals.. Take care!

good one here. it will get to a point people will beg for employment at that stage you are nearing leaving your business in trusted hand.

one thing I tell people is don't expect your staff not to do some shady deals but look away when there is need to or needless you raising an eye, react when needed just learn to balance it all.

in all if you have a good insensitive policy needless will your employees want to steal from you since they are better motivated by you.

ladtly, I want to ask where precisely are you based or run your farm from?

Good job you are doing here ...

I have really been motivated

Pls why do you keep buying ewe(sheep) for breading? Is it that you sell the older ones when they tend not to reproduce again!

I sell off kids and not the ewe, sometimes you go to the market and see good ewes that you just have to get due to their potential if properly managed

I do mainly grass fed with the exception to my new stock, weak ones and pregnant and nursing ewes.
Picture below is them snacking on glyricidia leaves which is very high in protein.
Keep up the good work. the glyricidia may also serve as a rodenticide from folklore. Do you have glyricidia sp growing on your ranch?

Unsolicited advise to ensure your grazing field doesn't breed super bugs from your rotation of antibiotics and antiparasitic.
a. Try sending fecal samples as well as tissue samples in cases of abortion or neonatal death to the nearest laboratory for disease process finding, egg worm identification , counting to help with proper choice of medication. UI vet clinic may be one, or reach out to animal care in lagos or ogun state, they have reliable and dedicated officers you can liase with.

b. You can look into creating a management system for calves in situations the dam is lost. you can customise your own calf hutch system, this may mean adding calves from your supplier to ensure the cost of raising them off the dam is not exhorbitant. when well perfected, this will hep your ranch in the long run when your flock population gets into thousands.

c. You can also get a reasonably priced microscope and necessary samples to do your own in-house testing/ necropsy to compare with the labs you pay to do the specialised findings. Small small ministry they enter permanent ranch. grin grin grin

c. In a few years your flock size should get bigger beyond your reach, it's a blessing, also it has the risk of becoming a super spreader. Be mindful of this. Stay blessed!!! grin grin grin

Interested. I do have a few goats and an ewe. I don't mind buying from you.
How do you sell?
