Here is what you are looking for. I get the feeling all Spf5000s can be overpanelled including the 18A but you must perform a firmware upgrade especially on the 18As.

https://www.amosplanet.org/forums/topic/overpaneling-on-spf5000es/

Edit: Also discovered that Timselectric was using the 18a version and his parallel setup simply capped his available amps at 18.2A. So looks likes you can parallel either, the inverter simply won’t draw more than the max (18 or 22). Hence Amos’s comments about waste if you overpanel excessively.

Thanks for this update. That was helpful.

You are welcome. I just stumbled upon the post where timselectric said he actually had 23.7kw on just one inverter. I had been looking for it and was beginning to think I was going senile because when I checked his build thread his signature said 3 growatts. Clearly the single Growatt was in the early stages.

Read and enjoy! (If you haven’t already)

very nice installation, though a very heavy investment for an equally very lucrative ice block business. smiley

i have heard about it, if u have a steady power, imagine powering with solar systems only, (no heavy diesel/fuel expenses. it is very profitable. it also depends on location.. e.g if u can produce 200pcs of blocks a day, there is different sizes sold for 1000, and 600naira. u are guaranteed of 100k to 150k a day

Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by ojesymsym: 10:37pm On Jun 02
It turns out that there are controllers one can configure to make any AC become a smart AC that can be controlled remotely and I reckon that one can use Home Assistant with them in the process.

Xanderone:
There is AI mode on the remote which is the mode I select to achieve the power saving. It senses the room temperature and appropriately ramps us condenser to cool it further or remain constant as the case may be.

As for the integration to determine consumption through state of charge of battery, that one na something wet I never sabi.

Maybe any of our guys here has an idea sha.

Wow! This revenue is mouth-watering! I need to know more about this.

But what happens the day Nepa light improves in the area? Won't it reduce sales drastically?

Are you sure you are a Nigerian? When I was younger, I remember a period we didn't have light in my former area for 1 full year!

My neighbour gave birth to her baby girl around this period, so she never heard the word "Up Nepa". The day the light issue was resolved and electricity was restored, the little girl nearly had an heart attack due to the chants of "Up Nepa" that filled the air that unforgettable evening! Street scatter! Everybody was dancing on the street! It was like a dream and miracle put together

Years later, electricity is still a big deal and still feels like something extraordinary. I thank God for solar energy. The only connection I have with Nepa and gen now is to pump water occasionally.

Interesting! In one of my sites in Oyo North, we have not smelt IBEDC at all in my area this year. The area was notorious for low voltage, so early last year or so, I got a 15kva servo stab . Now the thing is gathering dust on the wall.
I heard the whole town seems to have been forgotten by IBEDC for months now.
Because of charging opportunity in my place, you will think a community meeting is holding always.

That's interesting

the reason is that victron has a passthrough relay or bypass if you may and they typically allows more current usage with grid.

With the mindset of other inverters, i was thinking overload should make things like mosfet or its kind to go bad.
