A 14nm chip set can do what a 5nm does, the only difference is that a 5nm chip set is more efficient i.e it's faster, more powerful and it consumes less power, what makes it very suitable for consumers is it size and the characteristics listed above.

But when we look at the military side of this, a 5nm chip set does not put out a significant or an outrageous number when compared to a 14nm chip, reason being that you don't need efficiency or power from a chip set in 99% of all military armaments.
What you need are:
1: speed
2: payload
3: stealth
