Nonsense. Tinubu and his cohorts have resort to using quack courts to intimidate Nigerians every time they want to go on strike for what will benefit Nigerians. Tinubu was spearheading strike actions and protest against Jonathan but now he doesn’t want any strike actions or protest against him.

A paint rubber of garri in PH is now 6k. Tomatoes is no go area again. Food items are extremely expensive now. How will 60k take a family for a month? Tinubu and his people are living large while the masses are dying of hunger and starvation.
The idiot of a president wants people to sit and do nothing till they die from his idiotic policies that will never yield any fruits

You idiots devalued the Naira , removed fuel subsidy without due consultations.

Now the 30K minimum wage can’t even pay Transport fare to and from work .

Then how do you expect workers to pay school fees, house rent or even buy a bag of rice which is 85,000.

Threatening NLC with Imprisonment will only Stir already troubled waters

With the current inflation rate , Anything short of 300K monthly As minimum wage should not be affected by labor.

They claim the country is broke but Ministers are been giving 150M Naira worth of bullet proof cars and money been sent in form of prayers to their accounts according to the Stupid senate President Akpabio or AKpamu.

This strike will Usher in the much needed Revolution. Abacha military junta is far better than both Buhari and Tinubus Apc rule since 2015.

Even Apc urchins on Nairaland have gone mute 🤐. You will always look stupid for supporting or defending this idiots in Government
don't mind the stupid miscreants. You won't see them here, but just mention obi and you will see them running out like headless chickens. Or maybe they are still learning the old anthem that they will sing at filling stations and markets and get commodities free. See total devastation of a country. Just within 1 year of this man grabbing and snatching power and running with it, see where we are. God will punish everyone that supports and still supports this government because Tinubu is a Yoruba man. I am not tribalistic and would have voted for osinbajo or a more competent Yoruba man. I knew it that tinubu had nothing to offer. So here we have it. It's obvious that this country is on a downward spiral. It's not about obi, before those useless urchins will crawl out, it's about competence. Shebi na statistics we go chop?, but they have been quoting the same statistics since they came on board.
Nigerians, especially the tribalistic animals amongst them, oya o. They say go on strike and end up in jail

The Honorable Minister's threat to criminalize workers exercising their right to strike is alarming. Instead of intimidating them with fines and imprisonment, he should address the grievances of Nigerian workers who are fighting for a fair minimum wage. The government's resort to legal technicalities and court orders undermines the principles of collective bargaining and workers' rights. The Minister's statement is a stark reminder of the government's priorities - protecting its interests over the welfare of its citizens.

Workers minimum wage increment is fine and necessary but we need to be serious and realistic in our request. People that are more productive and result oriented are found in private sector and did not collect 600k as minimum wage. So NLC asking that for example, a cleaner or gateman be paid 600k minimum means directors in level 15 or 16 will be paid in millions just to awarding contracts and using Thier offices to steal. Anyway,NLC/TUC should tell government and private sector where to see the money to pay over 20million workers. But we should be ready to buy bag of rice at >600k since its price is always proportional to minimum wage.

Funny, sadly enough. The APC guys are very smart. They always use the ethnic card to win Nigerians. Just like the war they are fighting here on Nairaland. Some are actually fighting and defending with empty stomachs. grin grin

You used #160m to buy SUV jeep for each Senator out of 106 Senators...

Yet to hear the cry of the workers is a jail term , demanding 15 days notice as if 3 months have not been given to them....

May God visit the families of those that brought APC Government to Nigeria, let them feel the pains of the Masses....

Very funny man; can this threat fly ? Why is Govt waiting for so long to engage the labour ? The president increased fuel pump price immediately he assumed power; as an Accountant,he should understand the impact of such decision on the people's purchasing power. Many workers now turn to beggars to go to work due to transport cost. He made the secretary to the FGN the chairman of wage negotiating committee...a politician who will be playing game with people's destiny . They aren't serious on the matter.
Re: Strike: You Risk Six Months Jail Term, FG Warns Workers by Geometrix(m): 8:31am On Jun 03
[If you have been following this negotiations, the Government is the one that hasn't been realistic. First of all the private sector minimum wage is always take a cue from the one paid by the public sector(emphasis on minimum wage)
The 615000 demanded by labour, everyone knows it is not realistic but at the same time the government should offer something that is livable bearing in mind that the inflation in the country is a product of their inconsistent policies.
IMO the government is not coordinated. Removing the subsidy partly brought this but a good and tactical team head like we see in football matches would always be able to read the game and make amends that even if you loose the match everyome would be happy
The key thing is that Nigerians needs food and sustenace. What is the Government doing about it and how are they communicating it to the populace at least to inspire hope?

Very useless and delusional set of vagabonds in power.

So a jail threat is the right response to people looking for improved living conditions?

My only grudge is why they did not strike during Buhari's regime but BETTER LATE THAN NEVER!

Didn't NLC give you and the FG a whole month notice of this strike? On May Day NLC stated the the FG should get it's act together and conclude the new minimum wage or else we go on strike from June. Was this man no alive thenbto remind FG of this law? How is it he's suddenly remembered the law to use to threaten workers

This is why we never progress in this country. SMH
