Let be realistic..

Over #460,000 demand by NLC and TUC is outrageous, #60,000 proposed by FG is totally unacceptable and 100,000 is not good either, at least between 120,000 to 160,000 is okay compare to situation of things right now...

The NLC is ready to shift ground, let FG say okay 150k and see if NLC will not agree
Re: Strike: FCTA Gates blocked, No Entry Allowed by VIKTO83(m): 10:52am On Jun 03
If NLC can organise strike to protest the high salary and allowance of National Assembly, I'll join them ASAP. In fact I'll even go to d extent of not giving my babe money to protest NAatiinal Assembly bogus allowances and salary.
They bought cars worth 160M or so and d NLC didn't do Pim. Even d LP members in d National Assembly Joined the sharing.
I pity who's supporting Obi thinking he'll be any different.

increase in minimum wage is a lazy way of solving issues.. why not look into solving corruption, bring the price of electricity down, fuel price reduction.. if you do that our present salary would be enough

They have refused to solve that so minimum wage is the solution

If Nigerian youths had any iota of courage and patriotism, we should be in total support of this industrial action by the Labour Unions and possibly even back it up with Nationwide protests.

Then again, this is Nigeria!

We both know that labour is very willing to shift grounds.
Now be truthful. Does it seem like FG is willing to come up to 100k? we ain't talking if 120 - 160k yet oo

Obaofaba:
God bless the labour unions.

Ajaero can redeem his image in my sight.

I'm never a fan of him for meddling into politics with obi, however, so far he's been excellent in his handling of this issue of minimum wage.

If he's really fighting for us, may he succeed but if he's doing all of this to get fat cheque from the government, may his unborn children suffer for it as Nigerian workers are presently suffering in hands of Tinubu government.

You only stand with Ajaero in this for selfish reasons. You're not with him as per you desire good governance, just coz you stand to benefit from a wage increase. You remain an Agbado bat. How did Ajaero meddle with Obi you lying bat? Was LP not formed by NLC? After a wage increase you go back to your default mode: supporting Tinubu to continue impoverishing Nigerians.

My Question is, how long will this take for both parties to reach compromise?

As long as necessary or required.

Nigga you know say I like you but nonbe everything you go dey put mouth. Most of the APC guys are even here for the strike so what exactly is your problem bro. You no dey naija leave people wey dey naija make dem fight it out. Although the 450k is unrealistic but at least let the govt pay at least 100k that's more sensible. Don't let people be raining curses on you bro.

make dem leave electricity price.... Reduce price of fuel.... If it's only fuel subsidy government is paying for.... Then no wahala.... It's because they don't know how important fuel is.... Most of dis lawmakers never suffer before for their life..... Dem neva stay street before so they don't know how people feel.... Imagine offering people 60k....60k money for what.... They should use d money to pay for fuel subsidy

Oh God bless you for this comment, I have been thinking about it since.
Those that are doing doing gorvement work are less in numbers than those who are not working in gorvement
If you increase the minimum wage definitely inflation is going to rise. So who is going to fight for the poor mases and the market women on the street?
Everybody is fighting for himself and this gorvement is completely confused.

you are more concerned about how 'the initial gragra will last' than for government to make a serious offer in the ongoing wage negotiations. What is wrong if government had made a serious proposal of say N100k? I'm sure this impasse would have been nipped in the bud!
I dout that dude is living in Nigeria or something is wrong with him.
What does he stand to gain for all these? What kind of wickedness is that.
Can he say those things in public without hiding behind the keyboard?

160k is not a living wage in most Nigerian cities. Rent, food, electricity, fuel, transport cost have quadrupled.

This is the consequence of that careless statement....subsidy Is gone that balablu said on inauguration ground. It's the worst own goal of any president. How can you start your government by inflicting hardship on the people even before entering office? Not a good sign from day 1

Tinubu is our tribesman and we won't join the striking workers. They want to frustrate the efforts of the yoruba man as President.

Agbado, Ronu, I hope u ediots are not striking grin
Tinubu should just because of Agbado people add N500 to the 60k proposed minimum wage making it 60,500.

On your mandate we shall stand!

I don't subscribe to ethnic and tribes banters. But I have noticed Igbo poster on this forum are always attacking other tribes in Nigeria! You attacked fulani people during Buhari regime. And you have started attacking your southern yoruba neighbors!
Now, tell me how Yoruba you have derided will ever support you or your ambition in at the National level!
IGBO people have made enough enemies in Nigeria already, you should buld bridges not alienating yourself further!
