Good evening great family.
I will be glad if you can recommend a very good and economical tokunbo car of around #1,000,000.00 (One Million Naira Only) for me.
Thank you

Forget it unless you want to buy a casket with tyres.

Even Local used pencil light will be difficult to get let alone it's Tukumbo.
Double your Hussle add 1.5M to it and fine local used Camry big daddy.
Or add 800k to it and look for local used Honda products (2001 - 2005)

Truly he could get and pay the balance at the mechanic sha.
Maybe if you understand the fact that Nigeria is experiencing crazy inflation now and ₦600k in 2018 is about ₦2.4m equivalent now in terms of purchasing power.

Whateva Nigeria is experiencing should not remove the factor of depreciation in price used commodity like cars.... It is not land...land doesn't depreciate thats why it can increase in value exponentially...

U cannot buy a used car in 2018 and for 600k used it..wear it down and tear it....come here in 2024...and say u want to sell the car for 2.1M ..and ur greedy calculation that 600k is now equivalent for 2.4M ...
Sorry sir, Where did u get such witchcraft calculations from?? Lets not argue much ... When I said nobody should mention me..it's pple like u that justify greed with a inflation I was talking about

Definitely there's greed but then there's ignorance that you're displaying. My friend got a toks Corolla Sport for about 2.8m in 2021. Guess the cost of replacement in 2024 for a similar quality now? It's about 6-8m asking price. Importers will tell you it takes about 2-3m for clearing alone. Are you expecting anyone in their right minds to sell that Corolla for 2m now because of depreciation that is being cancelled out by massive inflation?

It doesn't show greed. It's basic economics, oga. You can't assess depreciation simplistically when you have this kind of inflation and exchange rate depreciation.
Market forces are not driven by altruistic motives but profit and value retention.
I was shaking my head last week when some people were blaming Yahoo boys for increase I'm rent when we have an economy with over 30% annual inflation (official). In the real world prices of many basic things have more than doubled in the past year. You can tell the landlord he built his house when cement was 50 naira, but how much does the landlord spend in living costs now?

Lol...this is funny ...This one wants to talk economics likes he's knowledgeable...but doesn't want to talk about the principle of depreciation of tangible asset in accounting ....abi we are not about evaluating price of an old item

Economics is not the justification for selling a used 2007 Camry in 2024 for 6.5M ...a car u bought as used in 2015 for 1.7M....its is witchcraft greediness

... Has u car not depreciated?? Why are u selling as if u bought it as tokunbo in 2022
