They set themselves up as shepherds and teachers over God's people, going as far as preaching their own ideas in place of God's Law to the people. And Jesus Christ publicly condemned them and their doctrines and traditions as lies which were designed to deceive the people away from following the truth of God. Jesus Christ made clear that these false teachers and false prophets — false shepherds all of them — had nothing to do with Him or His Father - John 10 vs 7 - 16 & Ezekiel 34 vs 1 - 31.

Kumuyi, for over 40 years has been, like the Pharisees, Scribes, and Sadducees before him, and has taught his doctrine and traditions, doctrines which he has switched up/changed several times over the years and still has more plans to change. If any of them were of God's Truth, there would not exist a reason to change them but because they are lies and he is aware of it, he finds he has to change them as time goes on. For instance, Kumuyi originally condemned the TV, Phone, and internet as tools of the Devil. But today, his GCK is broadcast over TV, internet, and phone lines across the globe.

If you half knew Jesus Christ, you would know that anything that changes its mind cannot be of Jesus Christ who instead declared that His Word is everlasting — UNCHANGING—, it is the same as it was when Jesus Christ declared it almost 2000 years ago, and remains the same to this very day. The sole reason you confuse that which changes with the times with Jesus Christ has majorly to do with the fact that you don't know Jesus Christ at all. Rather, what you have is of the religion of men, Kumuyi included! 😁

But be clear... what portion is there to take in Scripture if not all of Jesus Christ whose command to those who love Him is that they submit to and obey His teachings and commandments ONLY?

Jesus Christ did not give anyone a mandate to try to turn all humans on earth using His name. He made clear in His Gospel that He was sent by His Father only to the lost sheep of Israel - Matthew 15 vs 20 - 22 & John 3 vs 14 - 18 & Matthew 7 vs 6... But Temptation isn't defined as that which will corrupt and supposedly derail from heaven either. Sin is what you described and that is exactly what Kumuyi taught his people regarding use of TV, among other things, until he changed his mind regarding them.

I like Kumuyi. I will always do. My respect for him is massive.
His Church is the very first I saw myself attending while growing up.
We attended retreats and crusades in which he was physically present in Abuja.
But yes, some of his early doctrines of the 80s and 90s were unexplainable.
His doctrines didn't encourage the celebration of anniversaries, including owning or watching tv or even wearing jean trousers.

There is absolutely no confusion here except the one you assume. Again, Kumuyi's claims regarding even that which concerns being born-again is at variance with that declared by Jesus Christ in His own Gospel and Law in the Kingdom of God, the Kingdom which He, Jesus Christ, is King and Judge over. For example, Kumuyi's doctrine on the topic does not align in any way with that written in John 3 vs 1 - 21. It does not agree with Jesus Christ who said His Father sent Him only to the Lost sheep of Israel ans warned His followers not to give that which is Holy --- the Gospel of the Kingdom of God ---; to the dogs aka the Non-israelites. And this is only one example..

Anytime I see Deeper life members, I see another subtle version of boko haram. Anybody who is heavily indoctrinated without free thinking or a mind of his own is no different from the average Islamic terrorist in Syria.
