Mike the Headless Chicken, aka "Miracle Mike" was an American chicken that lived for 18 months after a failed slaughter attempt in 1945.

When Mike did not die after being struck with an axe, farmer Lloyd Olsen instead decided to care for the bird. He fed it a mixture of milk and water via an eyedropper, and gave it small grains of corn.

After nearly 2 years of nationwide fame, Mike choked to death on a corn kernel in 1947.

Noticed such an occurrence as a child.
Grandma cut off the head of a fowl but to our surprise,it got up and started walking around!
We waited for it to fall down but it didn't,for as long as I could remember,but grandma wouldn't none of it again.
She threw it in a basin of hot water and that was its end.
It probably could have lived longer....

Abeg any scientist for here wey go fit come explain this scenario in a layman's term for us?

A simple google search said the story is true and gave the reasons why it happened. The brain cells were not affected, the chicken didn't bleed to death, one ear was still intact and many of it's body functions were still retained. This shows that not the total head was removed as we do here when killing a chicken

I dont understand , but i am thinking that, maybe blood didnt gush out much during the slaughter because i believe LIFE is in the blood.
