Hello Everyone,

Please help!

My spouse was denied an F-2 visa in May.
It seems the VO wasn’t very much convinced about the authenticity of our marriage because we had the marriage in March this year (I came home) and/or probably no strong home ties.
Now, we are planning on reapplying.

My questions;
1. Has been anyone been through this same situation before? How did you restrategize?

2. It’s been over a week and our request to schedule an appointment hasn’t been approved. Please what can we do?

Thank you.

Hey 🤠

1. You are likely going for another VISA debacle because your whole scenario is like taking your priceless tie (which the USA embassy in Nigeria holds as a collateral for your return after study) away from Nigeria.

2. Despite the fact that the USA embassy knows that your wife must visit or eventually join you over there in America, but you did not even plan the whole visa process well. Applying for your wife’s F1-VISA two (2) months after marriage is too soon which will be term to relocation intents..

3. Consular did not doubt the authenticity of your marriage, but he or she doubts the authenticity of your mission. Your wife is expected to be visiting and coming back once in a while. She should have waited till Eid el Kabir or Xmas or other general festive holidays before applying for the visa.

4. Well , never say never. since you have purchased another MRV that means you are determined to give it a retrial. But a good counselor must have a clue of your profiles, copies of your previous DS-160 s, your academic standings in USA, your wife’s ties and your last visa transcripts in order to arrive at a positive re-application.

Best Wishes 🙏

Last year when I submitted his statement it was $35,000 then and it covered my COA, because I had issues with the department, I was moved to another department this January and they issued I-20 form in March , another statement of account wasn’t requested. Maybe due to the issues I had with the department, my documents were forwarded to another department for admission.

From last year until now, the money has reduced…so I am asking if I can present the available 20k USD or wait for more money end of June . I don’t have any grant or scholarship
Okay. Now i got it. It's not advisable going to the embassy with incomplete COA o

Please is it possible to defer admission when one hasn't sent his/her financial statements?

Hi everyone, please I need more clarification.
My COA is $35,000. Ms Chemical Engineering this fall.my husband is my sponsor
For statement of account, must it be $35,000 to show proof of fund? We have $20,000 now. Can I face the embassy with that? My first year tuition and expenses is $17k . My husband is saying I should wait until July to complete it as he is still waiting for some payments to reflect in his account, but I don’t have time , classes starts in August

Hey 🤠

1. @Villa12 has told you the fact. As your Cost of Attendance COA is $35,000, the USA consulars even expects you to come with double of the amount because you must also pre-calculate unexpected or unforseen expenditures while in school.

2. Prove of funds & Prove of Ties are the 2 (two) major ladders towards the success of your F1-VISA. I would rather you found avenue to balance your financial statement because the consulars now do the deposit logs calculations in a twinkle of an eye.

3. If luck is on your side, the consular might over look the need to check your financial statement but if your Form-120 reveals huge deficit or you cannot really explain how you will pay up the balances then he or she (the consular) might request for your POF evidence.

Best Wishes 🙏

Hey 🤠

1. The answer is NO. You cannot defer the admission (that) you did not have.

2. Even after sending the financial statement, you must wait after the issuance of your Form-120 before you initiate the process. Dont do it when you receive admission offers notification email. Wait till after your Form-120 has been issued.

I’m a PhD student. I’ve been in the US for almost 2years now.
Sometimes it happens that way. Is she working? Are you her sponsor or she is sponsoring herself?

Do you mind sharing her interview transcript?

Yes, you can defer your admission without sending in your bank statement or requesting for I-20.

Go ahead and defer, read their requirement and process for deferment

Hello guys I just got my I20 and I'm about to apply for my visa, that's either Abuja but I am hearing there are no dates and I am supposed to resume this August 26.
Do you recommend I try booking appointment at maybe US embassy Cameroon or Benin Republic as they seem to have dates.

You can defer your admission without your I-20. I deferred my admission without my I-20 and took it up the following year.
For clarification contact your school and stop relying on hearsay.

Your audacity to spew such nonsense is very loud. I repeat again you can defer your admission without getting I-20. I owe you or anyone no evidence. Let the poster of the question reach out to the school. Ignorant goat with your multiple usernames, very jobless , you don’t need to respond to every question. Hello everyone,
A non-family member is sponsoring me for my education. The deficit is about $22,000, and he has double that amount in his account. However, I'm concerned they might require more proof of my relationship with him. I'm 16 years old and pursuing my BSc. My sponsor is a family friend whom I've known for years. He promised that if I graduated from secondary school with good results and received any type of scholarship, he would cover the remaining expenses. Fortunately, I received a full tuition scholarship.
Please I really need advice on this 🙏

Aunty Debbie?

Yes, I got a full tuition scholarship, but that’s different from a full ride. I still need to pay for living expenses and other miscellaneous fees.

I’m not asking the same questions repeatedly; I just want to be very sure so I don’t make mistakes in my application process. I’ve mentioned that I’m 16 and simply trying to avoid errors, yet you’re criticizing me? Isn’t it embarrassing for an adult to behave like this? Because of the constant arguments on this thread, I can’t get the information I need—all I see are insults. People genuinely seeking information can’t find anything because adults here are acting like children. Frankly, it’s embarrassing.

If anyone can answer my question, it would be very helpful. The deadline for submitting my documents to get my I-20 is fast approaching.

Thank you.

They do not demand for proof of relationship. Be upfront and tell them when asked who is your sponsor? Simply say,

I do have a full tuition scholarship that covers 99% of my tuition and my uncle would be covering the deficit.

They might ask you, why is your uncle sponsoring you. I mean they’ll want to know why your mum or dad isn’t.

You can go ahead and tell them that he is your uncle and your God father who have been in your life since primary and has promised to take care of my tertiary education.
