What you earn weekly in US is higher than what we earn in 5 months in Nigeria |

This is the kind of unbalanced and awkward comparison I've always hated so much. How much do you earn per month in the UK? Compare that with average monthly earning in Nigeria so that we know you're making sense. |

nairaman66: Now you are talking ... Living abroad doesn't automatically means u are rich like Otedola and Dangote instead u will still live within your means . Job is different form job meaning the pay will differ from one another .. Those with good pay will flourish well to send good cash back home but those with small pay that even struggle to pay rent too, they find it difficult if they want to send money home is a very uncomfortable task for them... So my brother the grass is not really greener elsewhere . You can ask we have beggar here in UK we also have UK citizens that can't afford rent that sleep in the cold weather etc . So make favour just find us anywhere we dey 🙏 2 Likes |

Stupidity is when you earn in pounds, you keep quiet but when you spend in pounds, you begin to make noise that things are expensive. You begin to convert your expenditures in naira but you won't even mention your earnings. 3 Likes 1 Share |

Kingrshd3: Not soaking with water. You will start seeing some black flaking stuffs on the walls. It is similar to the black stuff you see on a bread that is left on a table for a long time. One of the ways to manage it is to always open windows at least an hour everyday for air exchange into the apartment. 1 Like |

Kingrshd3: A beggar in the UK has greater life expectancy to an average rich person in Nigeria. This should solidify my argument, else I have nothing to say to you! By the way, the minimum wage pay in the UK should be able to afford a worker a decent payment plan for a home. The idea of living is to afford the basic living conditions of life which was outlined in my post earlier which the UK is able to afford. Nigeria haven’t met its basic living conditions for the rich nor for the poor! If they have, why are the rich Nigerians going abroad for healthcare? Education? 1 Like 1 Share |

Re: Nigerians In UK Lament Accommodation Crisis by Tflex01: 11:49am On Jun 09 |
Same with Canada (Ontario specifically) but that comparison doesn't make sense because you are earning in dollars and the pay is per hour while your pay is monthly in Nigeria. |

Responses here show how very bitter majority of 9ja people are. We didn't have social media or even GSM back in the day to learn from people abroad what the situation was. Now you can hear directly from those abroad. You can weigh thing up better, plan better, avoid early mistakes upon arrival, etc. But all you hear is "they won't come back o, you earn in pounds, what is minimum wage in UK, etc. In 9ja we assume we too sabi. It is that assumption that makes us unable to learn and master basic things. Like how to run common election transparently, provide electricity, run a local council that benefits everyone locally, etc. Something Rwanda and others are doing effortlessly. 1 Like |

If what u pay as monthly rent in the UK is higher than what u pay annually in Nigeria, then come back home. It's that simple. |

saddler: England is a damp soaked island. Winters are brutal because unlike other parts of Europe it is always damp despite hardly any snow Someone who has been to both Russia and England said he preferred Russian winters to that in England because the air is very dry in Russia during winters. But in England there is always freezing rain. As you said, the best way to prevent mold is to allow for ventilation to reduce humidity inside that is caused by heating the house. Once mold takes root, it's almost impossible to get rid off. 2 Likes |

In 1960, we pursued the British away that we wanted our 'independence" from them and we refused to be second-class citizens to them. Some 60 years later, we have our "independence" but now, we are selling our properties and possessions here in Nigeria to run back to Britain and become the second-class citizens which we didn't want to be before. No be juju be that? |

He was paying N1.5m per year in Surulere for a 4 bedroom .... and now N2.7m per month for a 3 bedroom in the UK. He should convert and post how much he was earning a year in Nigeria and how much he is earning a month in the UK. Too many people abroad mislead those at home ... the reason so many japa without doing research and are faced with serious financial problems on arrival. One is to live in the UK .... one has to think in Pounds ... not Naira .....and one has to live under their rules and regulations ... not those of Nigeria. |

Natbrowny: I wonder...and it doesn't make sense comparing what you a paying in the UK to the naira..that is plain unintelligent. |
Re: Nigerians In UK Lament Accommodation Crisis by emonis88: 11:58am On Jun 09 |
This is stupidity in the highest level , do u pay 1500 to 2500 naira month in Nigeria? U earn in their currency n make expenditure in their currency, when u talk of expenditure in Nigeria, u earn in Naira so who is this daft person who is coming with this unintelligent comparisons. Agents of this in one year failed govt using stupid n unreconsiliable comparisons to foolishly support this govt , that has impoverished Nigerians in one year. Plunging Nigerians into hunger, hardships and uncertainty. Wicked people. 3 Likes 1 Share |

This is why the Igbo man is very different from their SWern counterpart. They will never dissuade others from benefiting off a foreign land like these ones & that Tiamiyu fellow. The Igbo man will always come back to carry his brothers, by force or by fire, to make something of themselves instead of constituting a nuisance at home. As cheap as rent is in Nigeria according to these couple of clowns (pun intended), can they afford the same kind of apartment or life they have over there in Nigeria …..even on a middle-class income?? You don’t want to come back but you want others to remain behind and die in the suffering you’re supporting! Gosh, how do these folk live with themselves, exporting all that low self-esteem & self-loathing everywhere! |
