In a 433 with Sterling Nkunku and Palmer when Nkunku drops deep into AM position Palmer can move into the box to receive and score or Palmer moves into AM position and as Sterling and Nkunku to assist it's typical common sense for anyone that watched possession football since the days of Barca. Maresca style does a lot of passes though he leaves his wingers to dribble he it isn't a cut and cross.

If it turns into a 3 2 5 with a fullback in midfield and two midfielders joining attack, Palmer doesn't have to be the widest man if he is playing RW.

The RCM can move wide and protect that right side since the right back is in midfield. That's why some predictive formations have Caicedo playing that RCM position while an attacking 8 or 10 plays the LCM, it could be Enzo or Carney, if Enzo plays deep laying playmaker. Nkunku may fit that LCM role more than Palmer.

Notice the chance Palmer missed for England was him playing from the left side trying to use his left foot to score to pass inside.
