When they should have negotiated while the strike was going on? If Labour succeeds to mobilize the same way it did, then Labour should ensure they get their demands met or a favourable living wage before the strike is called off. If not, then let the strike be indefinite. Their leaders should not be afraid of arrest rather, they should be prepared for it. It will only send a message to FG that they are serious. 28 Likes 3 Shares |

Labour should learn to be realistic. Majority of agencies in Nigeria are not profit making organization. Its very easy for the fg to pay even #500k all it needs to do is print more money that would cause inflation. Making 50k of now more valuable than #50k. A wage of 100k and a stable dollar rate if 1500 plus establishing a maximum Retail Price for commodities would be the way to go to manage inflation. I don't understand how a 40kg of beans that costs 25k in January would move to 100k plus in less than 6months. Even the dollar multiplied only by 2 but food stuff is multiplying by 5. Not logical and no society can keep up. 12 Likes 3 Shares |
Re: Labour May Resume Strike Tuesday After Rejecting ₦62,000, Insists On ₦250,000 by safarifarms(m): 11:51am On Jun 10 |
250k may not be realistic. As at the last time the minimum wage was set to 30k, How many bags of Rice could one buy with 30k? They should just set the amount to what can allow the lowest earner buy the same amount of bags of rice or more. Else Nigerians get poorer. An alternative would be if they can make the prices of things to return to where it was and Civil servants can manage the 62k. I'm not even salary earner but I think at least that should be fair for all involved. 8 Likes 2 Shares |

They should please. When they bought SUVs for National Assembly members, they didn't consider inflation. When they spent billions to enjoy themselves in Dubai in the name of climate conference, inflation wasn't considered. Billions on hajj pilgrimage whatever, we didn't hear inflation. You removed fuel subsidy, promising us that Dangote refinery would come onboard July last year. Fuel subsidy is allegedly still being paid. Dangote refinery has turned to the more you look, the less you see. You floated the naira, despite knowing fully well that we don't produce "shim" as a nation.. 14 billion for vice president's residence... When it's time for ordinary Nigerians to follow and taste our commonwealth, our leaders turn to economic experts. Experts on calamity that they plunged us into! Push and start ecomomy that Buhari managed for 8 years. Otunba Chicago took over and scattered everything in one month. NLC should go on strike please. 36 Likes 4 Shares |
