God1blessBiafra: Kanu was reported to have declined the Offer of a Biafra without parts of the South South. This gives the impression that he’s only interested in the Oil resources of those States. That’s where the problem lies because the rest of Nigeria (particularly the North) will Never allow him to go with the Oil resources while they languish in abject poverty. Check it….in case you’re too young to understand what is involved! |

I think we should have a system where each president's tenure is reviewed every 2 years within the stipulated time, such that if the president is not performing up to people's expectations, he should be impeached. His performance within the first two years should determine if he would qualify to rule for the remaining years of his tenure. It makes no sense why we have to suffer and wait for a whole tenure to elapse before changing an underperforming president. We have tolerated mediocrity for too long. |

For this to happen the six geopolitical zones will have to be made official in the constitution. Perhaps, the six zones should also be made the federating units. |

shinealight:Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is only asking for referendum. Why do you expect Kanu to accept that when there are people from south south that are among his ipob. Won't it be a betray from his side? But with referendum, they will see that's their people don't want to be part of Biafra and not Kanu's fault. Wait ooo are you saying you people want one Nigeria by fire and by force because of resources not because it's good? |

Too late. That igbo lawmaker is unwise I tell you. If thoroughly investigated, one might find more than skeletons in his closet. We igbos need to be sharpening our leadership skills, because if an igbo nation comes now, they are a lot of haters around and foreign that will be bent on sabotaging it, until it becomes a nigeria promaxx, corruption on many fronts, foresight disruption, internal sabo ( this is for all those aloof igbos who thinks non igbo bloods outside of a few tribes around - will not mind living with us in peace); etc instead of using your brain to figure out how to improve Nigeria, something that has failed and been failing for decades even centuries; it will be more beneficial and efficient in using that brain to figure out how to structure a working and prosperous igbo nation. |

God1blessBiafra: Yes, of course it’s all because of Resources….better realise that. There are over 200 million people inhabiting the geographical space called Nigeria without sufficient “exploited resources” to go round. I don’t want my people to starve, you don’t want your people to starve, nobody wants their people to starve. So, you better believe it’s all about sharing of resources. So, Kanu cannot expect to take the resources which everyone is presently sharing without getting one hell of a fight. That’s the plain truth….better believe it!! |

DeltaOil: Which respect? Bro lagosians didn't do nothing. Government actually took control of the niger delta oil by force which is the way life goes. Assuming government decided to give up their control over it,the powerful among you guys will still fight for control of the oil usually at the detriment of others. You people don't deserve respect for allowing "government" to take over something you claim yours. If you need our respect,go fight with the government and take it back. |
They should be talking about peaceful division. You can't be doing the same thing for more than 50 years and still be expecting different results. Nigeria main problem is not who is the president. Nigeria main problem is we don't share common value. What makes a great Nation are the people that share common value system, The Way Igbo man thinks is not the way yoruba man think, the way yoruba man think is not the way Hausafulanis think.. We're better separately than together.
Nigeria is one ok no spepreation ok Wat we need is good leadership. |

A fruitless exercise.. The principal officers in the National Assembly have enormous powers. They decide what goes through and what doesn't. Did you see how they mock and bully any member who dares to stand with Nigerians/poor masses on the floor of the chamber.. The leadership of both chambers are programmed to do the bidding of the Executive.. it is very clear from their body language.. all for selfish gains.. this can't augur well for Democracy where these bodies are supposed to check and balance each other's excesses.. But rather the bodies chose to gang up against the people. |

God1blessBiafra: Every Region or Tribe has something that they bring to the table but Nigeria is a developing country in which many of the available resources are yet to be fully tapped and exploited. It does not mean that others bring nothing to the table. When the country operated Regional government, every region had something to bring to the table and things worked fine until the military struck! As of this moment, Oil is the main resource that every part of the Nation depends upon. Gold may be discovered in abundance in Benue State tomorrow or other minerals may be discovered in the South West tomorrow in sufficient quantities to feed the entire nation, then they can all tap into that to feed everybody. That is what being Your Brother’s Keeper is all about. A section of the country should not plan to run away with what can feed the entire country….that is nothing but self-centredness, selfishness and short-sightedness! As for what is good and desirable that you wrote about, imagine your sister wanting to marry her sweetheart whom she loves very much (that’s good and desirable) but if the guy is broke or a scrounger, that wouldn’t help put food on the family table, neither will it assist her in sending her junior ones to school if that assistance is needed. So, what is good or desirable is not always what is best all round for all concerned! Think about that. Goodbye! |

They are being selfish it should also include law makers where they can only run for two terms and past governors are not eligible to contest for Senate. This will stabilize the polity . Imagine Seriake Dickson from senate became governor, spent two terms as governor and still went back to the Senate he left. Na only him get sense for the whole bayelsa? Lastly constituency projects should be totally scrapped. |
