He's targeting Lars Lagerbeer record. That's the worst imo. Worst Local should be Onigbinde or anyone else.

Onigbinde and Lars Lagerbark are better abeg.

Hmm we reached Afcon final with only cleared cut winning against Cameroon, pls go and watch our Afcon matches and see how negative we are even against average Africa teams …sir,Peseiro was a disaster though some may hit me for talking nonsense just cuz of Afcon final but in reality he failed woefully to give us better team after Rohr left and we are suffering from it now…Finidi or no Finidi the team needs real turn around not even now but for the future…..I remembered France failed to make it to 1990 and 94 WC but came out stronger but do we have NFF to give us better eagles,a puzzle.
I disagree with you that Peseiro was a disaster. We played very exciting matches despite his defensive approach. The match against Cameroun, Angola, South Africa were pulsating matches. One zero win is a good win. Portugal used one zero to win Euro in 2016, Greece in 2002. Italy in Germany 2006 and even in 2022. Nothing wrong with that.

There are no minnows in African football anymore. This is not the 80s and 90s oo. Cape Verde or Lesotho go knack you kpako if you loose guard. There are no elite teams anymore.

Finidi just like our politicians back home..Shameless.

If he has some dignity, he would throw in the towel but the buck still lies with those dimwits at NFF.

I agree 💯 that coach has no clue as far tactics and strategies are concerned.
But the set of players we have should easily beat all these teams even without a proper coach.
The player's level of commitment and focis is questionable too, below average performance from most of them

Is it still possible for Nigeria to qualify for the World Cup?

Who do you suggest would have worn it?

I think Ndidi, Iwobi and Nacho were capped in 2015 by Oliseh, same year with Simeon. Not really sure though

With due respect sir, you sef are not serious. Imagine the kind o excuse you're making for Peseiro.

Lolz. I couldn't help but shed tears when I saw Obuachu and Boniface going for the same ball not once, not twice. It was like school children playing. That's down to the coach not understanding how to use his payers. Peseiro did same thing but later learnt. Thought Finidi having been with him all this while would have learnt also.

Our local coaches come with a lot of baggage..foreign coaches have theirs but local coaches just have a little bit more complex issues.

Couldn't make sense of the substitutions today just like what Eguavoen did in the 2nd leg of the WCQ against Ghana..

No its colonial mentality because all along we do not believe in providing our own solutions but keep looking to the West. It is colonial mentality intertwined with inferiority complex.the problem with the black man is that the black man COLLECTIVELY are not aware of their potentials

Bad coaching aside, it's time to take a long and hard look at some of this crop of players we have...super-stars at their clubs but absolute wankerss for country. Boniface spends more time making banger (though admittedly funny tweets) on his X account that you wonder if he even finds the time to train in camp? Osimhen gives his all for Nigeria but can never be relied upon to be fit when we need him the most. Iwobi tries his best but I suspect he won't be able to handle the inevitable storm of stupid fans who will abuse him on social media, so he might prematurely either retire or outrightly refuse future call up's. Lookman will be Lookman, decent on his days and frustrating to watch on other days- too inconsistent to rely upon to give us moments of magic when needed.

That leaves us with a team that looks super talented on paper, yet seem to be lacking that winners mentality we used to see from previous SE teams.

Honestly I'll pick the Osaze/Yakubu/Emenike set over these players, at least those guys gave their all despite not playing for the best clubs across Europe. See how a player like Emenike played like his life depended on it, only Osimhen from this current set gives that type of dogged mentality.

We can still qualify from this group as the second or third best team and make the playoffs, but surely we need to go all out and get a experienced coach preferably foreign cause we simply don't have any good Nigerian coaches right now.

On paper yes. In reality no. I don' t see any team with less than 4 points after 4 matches qualifying.

Four games without Victor Osimhen and most importantly his hunger, 3 draws, one loss.

When we are ready to have this discussion we will have it.

for us to qualify the first thing the nff should do is to get a foreign coach who will only invite players on merit

All these homebase and Ihefu fc quota should stop

Imagine finidi needing for creative and attack spark in the second half after subbing off iwobi and samu but had no option on the bench 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

If finidi had good attacking options on the bench after subbing off iwobi and Moffi he would hv instructed them to trying dribbling into the 18 yard box to attract pk

Or even instructed boniface and lookman to do that. The Benin defense were a bit rash and if he instructed the above mentioned players to do as I suggested they could hv gotten a pk
