The leader of the Ibo coup that destroyed the 1st republic is from Anioma, so Anioma is Ibo. What's the big deal. ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿพโ€โ™‚๏ธ.

Asper Sanwo or Lagos. It's a brother's affairs. It's not for IPOB members like yourself to be chooking mouth.

I never hear other coups that happened in Nigeria tagged to the tribes of the coup plotters.

Never heard Fulani coup, Tiv coup, Kanuri coup, etc.

Everywhere on earth, we know coups are a purely military affair. But you ignorant, incorrigible folks insist the 1966 coup was an Igbo coup.

I hope the country called Britain falls to the level of Greece and Cyprus in my life time because they are to blame for most of the events that historically led to the genocide of my people, including the media propaganda.

Meanwhile, until that genocide is revisited, and a proper truth and reconciliation programme is done, Nigeria cannot really move forward.

No be curse but that's how the laws of nature works.

Healing must take place before anything is rejuvenated.

People claiming to be Igbo in Asaba, are those who inter marriage, that came from south east.

An average deltan known that and Igbo can create their state inside south east not Niger delta (south south)

Oh really? So you don't know that the 5 communities that make up Asaba all have Igbo names? Their is no ethnic known as 'Deltan'. If the Igbo speaking people of Delta State decide to go for Anioma State, the rest of should start thinking of what you are going for

As an Anioma indigene, my dream has always been to join my kins in the south east.

The ekwumeku resistance was the beginning of the Balkanization of igbo land. The British added us to the then western region because the guerrilla warriors were traveling across the Niger to hide from the colonial British after they attack.

They British knew fully well that we are Igbos because they themselves added us to the 1903 map of Igboland.

That said any Anioma person that believes that they are Edo is free to travel there and live.

No inch of Igboland will go to outsiders.

Do the Igbos genuinely recognize you as one of them? All they are interested in is the crude oil from Anioma region. When push comes to shove, your eyes go clear!

Seems to me you are the parasitic one if indeed you are a minority from Delta and not a bitter Yoruba man disguising as usual.
Anioma will be a full independent state in SE, they will have full control of their own resources. The scaremongering tactics of saying that SE wants their crude oil is dumb, as even in SE, Enugu state don't have Access to Imo crude oil, neither does Anambra have access to Ebonyi limestones.

Every SE state is independent of each other and manage their resources independently.
You minorities really need to make peace with staying with your fellow minorities and let Igbo speaking groups be. You can't be allowed to keep Igboland balkanized forever.

You have to be guided with some of your highly irresponsible posts here. What you irresponsibly posted is what several Anioma folks including the great Rev. Father (Dr.) Kunirum Osia a prominent Anioma son from Aniocha North LGA (where Ned Nwoko also comes from) and he spoke about some of you the Ibos from the South East who have an overbearing penchant for referring to Aniomas as Ibos. He rejected that appellation! In an interview he granted in 2016, he CLEARLY took a swipe at ONLY the Ibos for painting Anioma as Ibos when in fact Anioma is made up of immigrants from different ethnicities that still maintain their DISTINCT ethnic origins e.g Ebu (Igala), Ugbodu and Eko Efun (Olukumis from Yoruba descent), etc. The fact that Americans speak English doesn't mean all Americans are English people. The fact that Brazilians speak Portuguese doesn't mean all Brazilians are Portuguese people. Kunirum Osia made these statements in that 2016 interview.

Your feeble response shows that YOU are an amateur in this game you are playing here. I have been a veteran member of Nairaland since 2005 and I know you to be one of the very notorious and well-known irredentists from the Ibo South East on this NL platform who try to brow-beat others into accepting warped histories and play mind games to intimidate those who are NOT well grounded.

It is instructive that you have been away but suddenly crawled out of where you have been hibernating with that moniker and have started talking in absolute terms in an insidious manner and posting sensationalism and revisionist tales. I have had reasons to burst one of your falsehoods posted on the events leading right up to the Nigerian Civil War and the 1967 states creation on this Website sometime in 2017.

As a well-read veteran of advanced global and Nigerian history including the Nigerian Civil War years we will be very ruthless in observing your every move from here on out with reference to your spread of disinformation. Period.

You end up saying nothing other than wailing in severe pains, Tell your Rev osia to go back wherever his ancestors came from to Anioma, do you even know the meaning of Anioma? Anioma is Igbo land and nothing you can do about it

Our names are all Ibo names , our language is same (in different dialects) and our traditions are same.....

Please what is your headache about the Aniomas?

Is it not obvious..
The minorities need Anioma and Igbo speaking groups more than Anioma and Igbo speaking groups in SS need the minorities.
It's a case of crab in a bucket.

It's same mentality Nigerians have towards Igbo exit out of Nigeria.

The minorities see Aniomaland and other Igbo speaking parts of SS as their own civil war bounty and Anioma people and other Igboids as mere occupants of land that belongs to them( Minorities) by virtue of being pro Nigeria during the civil war.
Listen to them speak and you get the feeling of how they view you Igbos in SS as settlers, slaves, etc, in your own ancestral lands o!
They have the delusions that the only way you guys can be allowed to occupy your ancestral lands which they now see as their own land, is if you are willing to denounce your Igbo tag.

Their need to have you guys stay in SS is not built out of love or brotherhood, but out of hate, spite, deluded sense of conquest and ownership of your lands.

If you guys don't find a way to separate yourselves from these guys while you still can and while SE Igbos still yearn for it, your children will cry and will never be able to forgive you guys.

Observing of Monday sit at home is not really bad.
Employees in SE are actually enjoying it and don't even want it to end. As it means they work less hours for same pay.
Customers know that Monday is not business day so they have adjusted to making their Monday transactions in other days, business men are not losing any money because of Monday sit at home.

Why wouldn't other regions agree for SE to have 6 states? Don't they want Nigeria to function? How can a country function without equity and justice?

Minorities in Delta are fighting and killing themselves over land disputes everyday. Ijaw Vs Itsekiri, Itsekiri Vs Urhobo over Warri Vs Wado city, etc.
Anioma can do better by leaving you all in your mess to stew while they join a homogenous and stable SE.
By the way all available stats still shows SE to be the most peaceful zone in the country, so your UGM stuff is exaggerated.
Ned Nwoko Anioma agenda is a noble one that his fathers started since 1939! Let that sink in. He didn't start it, Anioma unification with Eastern Igbo has been in the burner since 1939!

You are just an Orlu man more interested in having your small Orlu state than on Igbo overall interests.
Let me let you know now incase you don't.
The oldest state agitation in SE that hasn't been created is Adada state, so even if they are going to create a state from SE, who told you that Orlu will take pre-eminence? You think Nsukka people don't want that same parochial selfish benefit of state and development you want over there in Orlu?

I don't know why some of you can't be reasonable for once!

Anioma state is of importance to Ndiigbo. This is not about development or Nigerian politics, this is about our future as Ndiigbo in this planet earth!

Anioma doesn't need SS, it's SS that needs Anioma!
Anioma has humongous natural gas and crude oil in Ndokwa and Ukwuani axis. Further crude oil and gas have been discovered in Ika axis too! Anioma has the highest quality of human resources in the entire SS region. They are unparalleled, unmatched!
So nope, it's not Anioma that needs SS, its SS that needs Anioma!

Furthermore, being in SE is of Anioma best interest. It will help her solve the identity crisis issues and weed off the Bini and other Minorities expansionists that are sizing up their lands using few deluded ignorant efuluefus among them.

Anioma state in SE zone will bring Anioma home where it belongs, give her total control of her destiny in the midst of healthy Igbo kin and kiths who sees them as brothers and not as competition as is obtainable in the babelian region of a thousand ethnicities you call SS!

Everyone can see the moon from his hunt, yet elders insisted we all gathered in the village square to see it together.

Togetherness breeds organic unity and keeps hawks away.

Orlu senatorial district is about 3 times the size of your proposed Anioma State.

Demand for Njaba State, now called Orlu State, was there before IBB created Delta state with Asaba as capital; before Anioma and Adada demands for state.

Nsukka people asking for Adada state lost it when Abakaliki was cut out of Enugu State. No saner person can divide Enugu State again to get Adada state while Imo and Anambra states remain the same.
The senators from the SE zone are asking for a merited sixth state in the SE zone. A new state cut from Imo and Anambra states, or a new state from Imo gets it. Orlu senatorial zone made up of 12 LGAs and most underdeveloped part of Igbo land gets the nod for a 6th state in the SE

1. You don't know your geography. Imo state is among the 4 smallest state in Nigeria. Anioma zone aka Delta North is bigger in size than the entire Imo state, let alone Orlu zone. You are being deceived by the number of LGAs in Orlu. Those are small LGAs by land mass.

2. There are internal resistance against Orlu state, for example the Southern Anambra and Egbema/Ohaji people might not necessarily want to be part of a future Orlu state.

3. Orlu is developed just enough, it is more developed that many other zones in the SE. So if development is your criteria for state creation, then Orlu will not even be in contention in SE.

4. You are ignorant of history. Anioma state demand has been on even before Imo state itself was created. It was initially called Alidimma zone. The minorities in Midwest convinced Osadebey to drop the demand for Alidimma zone for a unification with Midwest minorities to create midweek region, in return Osadebey was compensated with the position of Premier of the Midwest region.
So for you to claim that demand for Orlu state precedes that of Anioma shows how ignorant you are.

5. Enugu is the biggest state by landmass in SE, Adada state creation demand has also been on for decades. Infact Adada offers better proposition for Ndiigbo as the state offers us the option to bring back parts of Igboland currently trapped in Kogi and Benue states back!

6. Ohaneze Ndiigbo knows nothing about Igbo history. They are more interested in cash and carry politics.
By the way it's Ohaneze, meaning the Oha( the commoners) and the leaders (Eze). I'm part of Ohaneze being a commoner, and we are more in numbers, we know Igbo history more than those Ezes occupying position in the organisation, and we will make sure the right thing is done!
Orlu state demand must be rescinded and Anioma state demand for SE will take centre stage, that's what the Oha wants!

7. In this era of Igbo unification agenda, the only way Orlu state creation makes sense for Ndiigbo is if Orlu state is dropped, and replaced with Orashi state. In the sense that instead of unifying Orlu zone with Anambra south, we unify Orlu zone with Ndoni, Egbema, Ogba and Ekpeye in Rivers state and zone then to SE.
The above proposition is the only one that is of strategic importance to Ndiigbo. But this proposition is not yet ripe as Ogba and Ekpeye are still swimming deep in the murky waters of Igbophobia that Ijaws and other Minorities prepared for them.

8. In conclusion, Orlu state is not a viable option for Ndiigbo at this age and time. It only serves the parochial interests of some Orlu indigenes who can't outgrow atavistic sentiments for the sake of a higher vision that Igbo unification agenda represents.
