At least thank God our female teams are making us proud. Super Falcons will be going to the Olympics, U20 Super Falconets going to Colombia while the U17 Flamingos are at the verge of booking their plane to Dominican republic

U17 Golden Eaglets, U20 flying eagles and U23 eagles going nowhere. Now Super Chickens might not go to the world cup 2026

A pure derogatory attacking football.

you forgot we laboured to qualify to the last round of 2022 wcq on the last day. The only reason we could play Ghana in the double header was a goalline clearance by ndidi and it's not as if we were playing some top nations ooo. Our group was composed of cape Verde, Liberia and C.A.R.. rohr that was usually breezing through qualifiers was now dragging points with low nations. From someone that used to qualify us to tournaments without issues, there were clear and sharp decline decline in his football and it won't have taken long that he won't even be able to qualify us to tournaments again. His last days were torture and his sack was justified.

Thank u bros. People seem to have selective amnesia
How many Afcons did Rorh qualify Nigeria for? What was his showing at the last Afcon? Nobody wan query that. Na to dey shout Rorh upandan. We didn't lose the game against Benin on a technicality or Rohrs tactical genius. We lost because of carelessness in defence. Period. Add to that the pressure of wanting to have our first win. That causes self doubt. People need to learn to analyze things objectively. Rorh my ass

Nwabali in seria a wound be one of the bests, though not taking anything from Okoye performance in Udinese….Okoye would work his socks off to displace Nwabali, yes he play in South Africa league.

The only thing going for Okoye is that he is young and am seeing him taking over sooner but Nwabali performance in Afcon still one of the best in recent times by any Nigerian keeper.

Especially with the NFF administration that are in football for their pockets primarily
South Africa or Benin republic are going to the World Cup
Gift Orban will be regretting not playing for Benin Republic
He can switch allegiance if it’s not late
I blame NFF
They chose their own who won’t have issues with them
They obviously didn’t want Amuneke because he won’t take anything unprofessional from their end
We try again 2030
Gift Orban is eligible to play for Togo and not Benin

First of all, I think we had no business playing yesterday
Why wasn't the match fixed today
We played with South Africa same day, and they have an extra day of rest .

This Benin team played before we played South Africa, so they were well rested..
This shows NFF's administration is poor..

Secondly on the field of play, the Benin players were hungrier than our boys
They fought for every ball
Threw themselves to block shots and they refused to be intimidated by our " big names"
They were more determined to beat us, we were never going to win that game
We weren't hungry enough..

Thirdly, Finidi needs to get his personnel and tactics right.
You are already a rookie coach and fielding rookies during crunch qualifiers is not smart..
Keeping Lukman on the wings is also not smart
Taminu is good but he misplaced a lot of passes and invited unnecessary pressure yesterday
Kudos to him for his work in releasing Chuks the build up to our goal, but he shouldn't be starting matches of this magnitude..

I think we were a tad unlucky
The general play was good even though we lost
The coach just needs to sort out his personnel and tactics

Finally, this team lacks leadership
The Coach is already a poor leader
We needed Leaders on the pitch and no one stepped up
We missed Ekong and Osimhen in that regard
Someone needed to push and charge the players.. Ndidi failed woefully in that regard

I personally think we can still qualify
We've made it hard for ourselves but it's still possible..
We need to win all our remaining matches and hope other results go our way..

The thing is, these draws and loss will make other countries look down on us. So they'll probably be over confident when facing us
We can take advantage of that and hurt them before they know what's going on..
Still so much to play for
We need our Leaders back in the team
Ekong, Osimhen, Simon, Aina

Finidi should stop experimenting with these local players!!

Very tight..
Even if we win all our games, we still need other results to go our way ...

But we should do our part and win our remaining matches
Warrior mentality is needed
Zero room for errors or mistakes

We must become that resolved and put together a Man City-esque end of season winning run..
Then hope other teams drop points
Anything other than that, were out

We put ourselves in this situation unfortunately

There's nothing you say that will make me believe this is best this set of players can produce.
We are not the best team in Africa, but we have better players than Lesotho, Benin and Zimbabwe. We just have poor coaches.
Finidi is not it.
Football is not won by So called " better players "

It is set up

Now what is set up?

You are going for world cup qualifiers and do not appoint a coach.
You allow the previous coach's contract to lapse two games into the campaign before appointing a coach in the middle of the campaign after two shameful draws
Finidi took two friendly games . Was he provided with assistants or resources? No he was alone
During those friendlies did the players all turn up?
Even now will be be allowed the same assistants that Peseiro had. Learn to was not doing coaching, tactics ,drills etc by himself. He brought his people and even Finidi was part of that

Finidi is just there as the face of the person Nigerians can vent against you need to look deeper

If you want to blame a coach for a failed qualifiers
Appoint him from the beginning and provide his needs

Which serious team is appointing a coach at this stage?

Finidi is not the problem
Look deeper at the NFF
Do not forget Peseiro drew against Lesotho and Zimbabwe.
It is not apparent that he would have done any better.

The issue with Nigerian football is not sort term
Qualifying for World Cup in 2026 is irrelevant to me

The focus should be on getting the right set up for the future

he mistimed the ball that resulted to the first goal

Aside that he was solid

Do your think 🧐 the goal keeper should have rushed outside 🙈 abandoning his goal 🥅 effectively creating an empty goal for Ishola Olaitan to slot the ball in.

The goalkeeper action made the goal a gifted formality on this occasion goalkeeper was naive.

However, of greater concern was Benin played like one unit complete cohesion understanding and fluidity. Rohr who we rejected had coached then into a solid cohesive team . Yes they may not have any top quality players but they are a TEAM.

WE in comparison just did not play like a team At all.

It's not so simplistic, goalkeeper are judged over several games and with CONSISTENT top performances.

Nwabali too us out the darkness 🌑 of mediocrity and Uzoho. But he still has his frailties. He was 95% at fault for the first goal conceded. He rushed out of his goal 🥅 like a school boy leaving it wife open for Ishola to score into an open goal. It was a school boy error.

Bassey mid timed his clearance but would have caught up either tackled, blocked and or out muscled 22 year old lshola for Benin. In addition Bassey would have cut out the angle for any shot on goal.

The minute Nwabali ran out of his goal 🥅 it was over.

I agree
But somehow I think NFF will stick with him
They hired a rookie coach and the guy is making rookie mistakes
They should allow him grow in the job
In 9 months, we may have a different Finidi..

There's a solid coach in there, atleast it showed in our generally positive play
He just needs to drop all his prejudices about NPFL players, select correct players, develop a solid playing system and improve in-game management.
There's a decent coach in there

Team selection was poor, it's like players selected on favouritism and godfatherism not merit.

Most of core players from AFCON that we struggled in missing WHY.

It's apparent that Ndidi, KC , Ajayi, Chukwueze, Awaziem, are simply not in form some have even expired.

Your can't plant corn 🌽 and expect Yam 🍠.

Imagine playing Osayi a right winger as a left back , Onuachu has little or nothing to offer, Benjamin Tanimu should not be in the U20.

What happened to Osho and Tosin as well as Adebayo and sorry there are too many players better than Benjamin Tanimu.

We had two players who have no quality invention and creativity in midfield Ndidi and Onyedika, they are not going to ghost past players with trickery and technique and open up games with clever through balls. Defending and disrupting the play a big yes but creativity.

I was so bored 🥱 with the lack of invention and very slow pace of the game I wanted to sleep 😴.

I don't blame Finidi too much he is not a magician but we were finished off by the team selection. And why was Boniface not starting ❓

Ihefu fc 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Nigerians, what do you think is special about this defender called Benjamin Tanimu that made the Coach of the Nigeria Super Eagles, Finidi George, to start him in the two games recently played by the Eagles?

The Coach didn't just start him, he left him on the field for 90 minutes in the two matches.

Now, who is this Tanimu?

He recently moved to Ihefu FC , a club in Tanzanian league from Bendel Insurance FC Official of Nigeria.

In the latest #CAF ranking of leagues domiciled in Africa, Moroccan league is the first, South African league is the 5th, Nigeria league is the 6th, and Tanzanian league is the 25th.

Why should a footballer who plays in the 25th ranked league in Africa be invited to the senior national team?

Tanimu is not just inexp*erienced, he is unexpos*ed, having come from an obsc*ure Tanzanian league.

It was noticed that instead of marking opponents, he was busy admiring them.

It takes just one incomp*etent defender to disorganize the entire defense line in a football match.

Such a person should not have received a call-up to the senior national team.

How did Finidi George even watch him in his club to ascertain his competence.

A good national team coach is not supposed to use important matches to promote an obs*cure player from an obsc*ure league.

In the last #AFCON, we had commanding defenders like William Troost-Ekong , Kenneth Omeruo, Ola Aina, Chigozie Awaziem, etc, in the defence line.

How come they are not part of the current team?

No wonder he fru*strated Daniel Amokachi out of the coaching crew in order to perpe*trate his agenda.
