First of all, I think we had no business playing yesterday
Why wasn't the match fixed today
We played with South Africa same day, and they have an extra day of rest .

This Benin team played before we played South Africa, so they were well rested..
This shows NFF's administration is poor..

Secondly on the field of play, the Benin players were hungrier than our boys
They fought for every ball
Threw themselves to block shots and they refused to be intimidated by our " big names"
They were more determined to beat us, we were never going to win that game
We weren't hungry enough..

Thirdly, Finidi needs to get his personnel and tactics right.
You are already a rookie coach and fielding rookies during crunch qualifiers is not smart..
Keeping Lukman on the wings is also not smart
Taminu is good but he misplaced a lot of passes and invited unnecessary pressure yesterday
Kudos to him for his work in releasing Chuks the build up to our goal, but he shouldn't be starting matches of this magnitude..

I think we were a tad unlucky
The general play was good even though we lost
The coach just needs to sort out his personnel and tactics

Finally, this team lacks leadership
The Coach is already a poor leader
We needed Leaders on the pitch and no one stepped up
We missed Ekong and Osimhen in that regard
Someone needed to push and charge the players.. Ndidi failed woefully in that regard

the way una tk dey try paint this Taminu guy like say mk we Dey pity am dey painful

Sometimes I do ask myself no be the same matches wey I don watch am play na wey una watch too? That boy on a good day is not even good enough to mk super eagles bench or our Olympic team starting 11

Finidi is very stupid to try such gamble in this qualifiers knowing fully well the team’s tight position in their group.

No one is talking about how Igoh ogbu, torunarigha, akpoguma or even Ndah that is doing well in the SA league etc were all sidelined but making excuses for a player frm the Tanzanian league of all leagues who made the the starting 11 of almighty super eagles of Nigeria at the expense of the above mentioned defenders

All the blame goes to ajayi and bassey but no one is even talking abt the ekuke that looked shaky and light weight in all the games I hv seen him play so far. How was he even scouted to the extend of meriting a starter’s shirt for the super eagles in important World Cup qualifier games? Who Dey watch Tanzanian league? Even our opponents In the last two games won’t dare to feature an amateur and inexperience defender from such league in important games like the World Cup qualifiers

Games like this are meant for the very best we can boast of as a nation but ours is always different. Personal and selfish interest/gain comes first

I disagree with the bolded. We sure can defend. Afcon showed it. Finidi either has no philosophy or the time was too short to instill it into the players but what we saw today was a disgrace.
Disgrace is good it lleads to change

How old are you were you around when Westerhof arrived in Nigeria in 1989

He had a terrible start

There . We focus too much on short term non issues

Yesterdays' result does not tell me anything about Finidi

E go easy to post since nothing de your mind pass agenda. If we ask you to talk now na so so "bbbut bbut he plays in Tanzania"

Tanimu was decent. We can easily drag Bassey

We can drag Finidi for not calling up better defenders but Tanimu did not F-up. Conveniently forget his pre-assist because it doesn't suit your narrative

Next games till March 2025
Rwanda v Nigeria
Nigeria v Zimbabwe

September 2025
Nigeria V Rwanda
SA v Nigeria

October 2025
Lesotho v Nigeria
Nigeria v Benin
very very tight corner for Nigeria….SA or Benin might grab the ticket.

Well as mostob no gree me rest, we will need both of SA and Benini to not win 3games out of the remaining 6 to stand a chance.

From our end, it means winning all 3 of our next possible fixtures to shout "Land Hooo!"

Oh, GD aspect too. We will need absolutely to get +8 from those 3games, meaning averagely 3goals per game or more.

Another equation to consider would be beating anyone that SA or Benin beat by a higher margin.

SA win 4-0
NGR must win that same rival by 4+

All of these 3 equations will be in total jeopardy if Finidi is still the manager cos guy is just wearing Lab coat 🥼 here. Legend status is his shield. He's clueless and lacks self awareness of his crap when you consider this is not AFCON qualifiers but WCQ.

See how everyone forgot Onyedika had a great game because the coach wants to steal the entire shine with mediocre choices?!

2+2-4 currently.

Normally even with dis fixtures,we shldnt be shivering…on a normal day,we shld be beating this teams on paper but unfortunately na werey technical team and players most especially those who came a day to South African match despite deir leagues ending 3weeks b4

We need grace to qualify, even till now we don’t need calculator if we can win all our matches

I knw South Africa 🇿🇦 as a nation would still slip, while Benin 🇧🇯 can’t rack up all d remaining points ,we just need to do our own by winning d remaining games

I agree
Tanimu should not even be in the team
But let's be honest, the guy was decent
He was definitely one of our better defenders in both matches
That says a lot about the quality of our defensive display..
Then again, did you see that pass to release Chuks for the first goal?
There's a good defender there
The whole defense was bad
But of the lot, Tanimu wasn't the worst defender..

During the AFCON, our major strength was our defensive solidity
Ekong and Aina in that defence raised everybody's level..
Defence wey strong like rock

These last two matches na Ekuke defensive display everywhere
Poor communication, poor positional awareness, loss of concentration, etc

Abeg
We need our Ekong and Aina
Ajayi has not grown
Bassey still needs a mentor in that defence before he becomes the mainstay

Finidi should have invited stronger defenders
The guy really messed up
I hope he learns and grows from this fiasco

which decent? Was he even suppose to be near the team let alone making the team?

What were the criteria that made him dislodge others that deserved that opportunity?

The ajayi u re projecting to be slaughtered in both games was miles better than that Taminu guy. No be the same games wey I watch or u guys feel pity for him because na npfl product playing for Tanzanian based barca? Gosh!!

Even when we lacked defenders such low profile player can’t even near the super eagles let alone now that Nigeria as a footballing nation is ranked as one of the countries with the most players plying their trade in europe and other continents in terms of players exportation?

Hv u seen Taminu play in Tanzanian league before if u hv can you compare his performance to that of Igoh ogbu in the uel this season or Ndah in SA top flight?

3. You are freaking liar for saying "it would have made sense if na from Enyimba".

Finidi gambled with player selection l, especially with Tanimu and other call-ups and it failed woefully
If it had worked, man go dey feel like prime Guardiola
I'm glad it failed
Our local coaches no dey hear word
Everytime questionable call-ups
I give him kudos for doing something about our midfield atleast
I enjoyed the free flowing football even though we lost
Our passes were better
Transitions were better

Make the guy just humbly take corrections
I believe with the our full squad available, we can win all 6 games.

That Dossou even if he plays in Chadian league he is the best his country have

Is Taminu the best we hv in his position? Are u too daft to reason?

I still maintain that if finidi gave the chance he gifted Taminu to an Enyimba defender it would hv been justifiable that atleast the said player played under him when he was in charge of the Aba based npfl club. Insinuating such doesn’t imply that I wanted that.

How on earth did Taminu become a starter in the super eagles all of a sudden when we had defenders who did well in the just concluded season in europe? Is Taminu better than Ndah who shone for SA giants Orlando pirates 🏴‍☠️?

As for Sodiq u hyped him so much here that I longed for his debut in the super eagles to see how good he is

this attacking football will continue to hunt us if we are not careful, we don't have the full spine for that now, that's what Rohr and Paseiro saw and tried to manage but our arrogance that we have it all will continue to be our bane. If we like make we no hear word, we will continue to cry over what we don't have
